Re-piercing ears

I had several years where I didn’t wear earrings. Holes are not closed up at all but if I try to wear earrings now they feel irritated after just a few minutes.

I did wonder if I’ve developed a nickel allergy but surgical steel or plastic posts seem just as problematic.

Could it be that my ears just need to get used to earrings again? Would having them re pierced do anything?

I really want to wear earrings again!

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Thanks

Mine are the same
I've put in titanium ones from here, pushed through 24hrs of my ears going "don't like this" (I had to shove them through!) and they're the best they've ever been!

@MaybeHeIsMyCat thanks. I can’t see any titanium earrings on the site though…

Ah you have to go all earrings, filter by material and click titanium Smile

I had this problem until recently, my ears were pierced as a teenager (a long time ago) and a couple of years ago it was becoming more and more difficult to wear earrings and in the end i just stopped.
I was thinking about getting then repierced but i gave it another try with some 18 carat gold and diamond (tiiiny diamond) studs that had a long, slender post.
I got them in with a fair amount of difficulty an hour or so and a bit of bleeding but kept them in for about six weeks, washing the lobes with saline solution a couple of times a day.
They were certainly sore at first but after a few weeks i could take them out and reinsert them more easily so I did that quite a bit too. About four months on they seem fine, touch wood, and i can wear earrings again. Yay!

Jackson that’s so obviously spam. Reported for removal.
