I want to buy a bra, and i think my size has changed since stopping bf etc, how do i work it out? I have a tape measure but am randomly measuring bits and can't remember how to do it.

I wouldnt bother with tape measure - none of the stores worth their salt do, as its very general. Look at how the bras you have (pref most recently bought), fit you, and then adjust the size as necessary.

Google "bra sizes" and you'll find loads of info.

I was in Debenhams the other day to buy a bra, didn't get measured as the girls were busy but I tried on and brought a 36a.. when I was paying for it the girl said to me "is this for you" when I said yes, she said I hope you don't mind me saying but I don't think this will fit you... this was when I was wearing a big coat.. scarf... jumper... she said I needed to go down a bra size and up a cup size... I went to try on what she had suggested and do you know what!!

SHE WAS BLOODY RIGHT...and that was just by looking at me.. if you can... go and get measured...

Bocohohoho · 28/12/2007 18:08

Wow, that's quite a gift!

Maybe i should go and get measured then. Read that figleaves advice but i don't know, a couple of bras that are the same size fit so differently that i'm confused.

If you are vast of nork, you need Bravissimo.

If they are neat and perky,

Bocohohoho · 28/12/2007 18:10

No, not vast at all.

34C

But yes, you do need to try on lots of different styles/makes, because they all size differently. I have a large array of sizes...

If anyone comes her to steal my bras, they will think I have norks like Worzel Gummidge has heads.

Ew, I'm imagining you unscrewing big turnipy boobs now.

Hmm, so ordering online isn't really a good idea is it. Will have to go into actual shops. Gah!

There are so many different styles that even in the right size you still have to try them on to get the right one.

Definitely get an experienced person to fit you, They won't make you strip off in front of them. IME they glance at you for half a millisecond, send you into a cubicle and bring you lots of lovely bras to try on.

SIt saves all the time and effort of looking through all those racks, and you end up with a bra that really fits properly.

WanderingHolly · 28/12/2007 18:59

I do not unscrew my 'big turnipy boobs!'

They have poppers (extra strength) and some secure strapping.

Go to a shop from which you can order them online at allater date - eg M&S. Buy a couple, then you can order more of the same online, if they're any good.
