I'm getting fillers today, do they hurt?

I'm getting fillers in my upper cheeks. Botox only gets rid of 50% of my fine lines now and I constantly look tired.

I'm anxious!

Do fillers hurt?

I think your laughter lines around your eyes look less pronounced and the naso labial lines have improved. I wonder if you could have just done with a little more filler, or perhaps a slightly different placement. Was the practitioner someone who is well recommended and experienced?

Branleuse · 17/01/2022 15:44

Fillers should work immediately. If anything youd have more swelling at first. I think 0.5ml hasnt made any difference.

Ive only tried fillers once in my nose to lip lines and needed a lot more filler than thought to make any difference at all. I thought they werent worth it

I have 1ml in total in my smokers lines (I don’t smoke), jowls and every other year in my cheeks. I have fantastic results.

Angrymum22 · 17/01/2022 16:26

For crows feet area I had really good results with Botox. I suspect she has been very sparing around the eye area because the skin is v v thin and the result could end up looking very puffy rather than smoothing.
A friend does my Botox, we are both dentists so have a much better knowledge of muscle and soft tissue anatomy in the face. I would trust anybody injecting into my face without degree level facial anatomy knowledge. As students we were taught to visualise the skull and muscles as we place injections or carried out surgery to avoid cocking things up.

@Whingasaurus are they tested on animals? Not having a go, curious.

You are lovely looking op, have no knowledge of fillers so popped in as curious.

Whingasaurus · 17/01/2022 16:53

Yes botox and fillers are batch tested on mice causing them a slow and agonising death. But you look great OP Confused

Imabouttoexplode · 17/01/2022 17:01

You need BOTOX for crows feet, not fillers. 0.5 ml of filler in your mid face will do next to nothing anyway.

CrimbleCrumble1 · 17/01/2022 17:04

Why didn’t you have botox for your crows feet, that works really well.

ItsAllAboutTheLighting · 17/01/2022 18:02

Those suggesting botox, it says in my OP it's not working as well as it used to and I need something more.

Those lines are WITH botox.

That's as good as it gets there's days. The lines were all the way down my cheek 14 days ago.

I was hoping to banish those last lines with filler but clearly that isn't it either.

I can see the difference now I’ve zoomed in to your photo.

jobsagudden · 17/01/2022 21:35

I think you can really see a difference, it looks fab!

Wizzbangfizz · 17/01/2022 21:38

Following as i have filler booked on the 15th!

PandoraP · 18/01/2022 08:13

I also think you can see the difference. The lines look softer on the 2nd photo.

ItsAllAboutTheLighting · 19/01/2022 08:20

Now it's settled and the Botox has taken full effect I really really love the results!

I'm surprised to be saying that but I keep catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror and doing a double take.
I don't look tired, like I've been awake for 10 years and I look fresher!

I'm very pleased.

can we see OP

Wizzbangfizz · 19/01/2022 08:23

Great news! Exactly the update I was hoping for

PandoraP · 19/01/2022 08:28

Hurrah. Can’t wait for my appointment now!

Guacamole001 · 19/01/2022 12:22

When I had fillers last August she used 1.5 ml. But I was very disappointed with one side so next time will expect 2 ml. Although finding my diet is helping my face look younger so bring it on!

I bruise easily and fillers always hurt me but I am a sensitive being.

Guacamole001 · 19/01/2022 12:26

She used Ravolux but it was a different person and I much preferred my Restylane experience. I also didnt notice any glow after but have had menopause since the first fillers.

I use Elemis bliss capsules but wasnt expecting to need to use them straightaway so perhaps Ravolax no good for me or whatever its name is.
