If you have psoriasis what shower product do you use?

I was recently given a Tropic shower pebble and it literally was the only thing I've ever used that made my psoriasis less red and flaky but they are £8 a pop and it didn't last long. I prefer a soap type product rather than anything too oily so that poor DH doesn't go flying when he gets in the shower after me. Any suggestions please for something soothing that will also wash me?? Nice smell would also be a bonus. Thanks.

I use the aveeno baby products or aveeno shower gel. I also use t-gel 2-in-1 for my hair.

Cantu products for hair and a natural soap with lavender and sage.

Jumpingintomenopause · 13/01/2022 23:52

Can I ask how long the pebble lasted please?

Tangelo · 13/01/2022 23:53

My psoriasis is triggered by SLS so I use Aveeno shampoo (which has been a great discovery) and soaps from the Highland Soap company - the big bars not the glycerin soaps. They are often on a two for £9 offer and last for ages. I haven’t found a shower gel that works for me, but these soaps are pretty good. I often buy the varieties with oats in them for extra skin help!

@Jumpingintomenopause I shower every day and it lasted about 2 weeks. It was lovely, apparently they are made without lye. I've tried other soaps before like black African soap and goats milk soap and none of them really made any difference. I've also tried the aveeno shower gel and thought it was okay but not great.

Well it's oil, but it is great
L'Occitane almond shower oil

It's lush

I don't have diagnosed psoriasis but I do have skin issues. When it's really bad I wash with aqueous cream.

icelollycraving · 14/01/2022 08:23

I use L’Occitane Shea body wash, then buy refills. It’s the white one.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 14/01/2022 08:23

Not the same brand but they are all the same really, huge tub for £1 www.savers.co.uk/Skin-Care/Body-Care/Dry-&-Medicated-Skin-Treatments/XBC-Aqueous-Cream-SLS-Free-500ML/p/718141

Thanks, I was considering trying it but 2 weeks isn’t great value at all.

My husband has psoriasis. He uses African black soap from Amazon. It's transformed his skin. It's cheap and lasts ages.

Kriskristoffifee · 14/01/2022 18:24

Honey I washed the kids soap from lush .followed by lush dream cream

citygirl1961 · 14/01/2022 22:04

@Kriskrisktoffifee - I fancy using Lush Dream Cream and their soaps but Lush products are so scented and I have eczema, do you find them OK?

Kriskristoffifee · 15/01/2022 05:23

I have only used the honey soap and dream cream . My psoriasis was really bad and both products were fine for me .

Gardeniafleur · 15/01/2022 07:08
