Frizz update: not gone but improved… hope this helps fellow frizzies!

I posted a while back in frizz desperation.

Based on the helpful replies and product reccs from that thread I have discovered a new regime that has helped! It’s still not perfect, I’m far from frizz free, but it is SO much better and my hair is certainly less dry and angry-looking.

I’ve abandoned most of the olaplex I was using apart from No 3 which I am using in far greater quantity BUT less often. I think olaplex shampoo and conditioner weren’t helping my frizz at all, if anything I think the total frizz ball I have been for the last few months may have been because of those products tbh.

I’m using Curlsmith products too for the first time, I really REALLY disliked the product I thought I would love (their weightless air dry styler) but I have found a fab shampoo and conditioner from them, also I have started using their gel and their styling balm. I got the quantities wrong at first and ended up a stringy mess but now I use very small amounts (especially with the gel) on soaking wet hair and then air dry and it’s REALLY helped.

I’m still on the look out for a product I can use to tame frizz on dry hair between washes so any reccs would be much appreciated.

Anyway I just wanted to update in case this helps any other desperate frizzy-haired people! I wish I could reduce my frizz another 20-30% but it’s about 50% better so I can’t really complain too much!

well done,

I had popped in here hoping it was hair info on Menopause hair,

still got lots of it, but dryer and flyaway, not full on frizzy except the grey bits around the hair line

In between days I use a blob of my normal conditioner, smear it over both palms and skim gently over the hair. Another blob/smear and scrunch upwards to calm the ends.

Others on an old FB group I was on swore by using water-based lube. Or pure aloe-vera gel.

Key thing though is a silk pillowslip and pineapple (high pony tail) your hair overnight
