Any recommendations?

Had a look around our small town and there's hardly any. Are they not a thing any more? Don't want anything too expensive unless I could wear every day, so nothing overly glittery. Have dark brown hair, v dark eyes and lashes. Would like something neutral and not too wild, just do that I look 'done'.

I am apparently turning 50 in the next year and need to have a good long think about how awful I look. Thought make up would be an easy start!

I became allergic to all powder eyeshadow a year or so ago and get hideous gunky eyes. I have some mac paint pots and two Charlotte Tilbury colour chameleon pencils in bronzed garnet and champagne diamonds. I found the Charlotte Tilbury eyes to mesmerise pots didn't last at all on me even with a good primer. But the mac paint pot and the colour chameleon last over 12 hours.

I don’t like shimmering ones for every day (which is a shame as so many shimmery ones look lovely!) and the easiest to use, fastest to blend and most flattering matte one on me is Laura mercier caviar eye stick in caramel. Lasts quite well through the day on me. And although expensive does last me a long time.

Really keen to try out the rimmel and reckon ones though.

I use maybelline colour tattoo but it sometimes comes off. I have to make sure there's no oil on the skin. And it itches my eyes a little.

I like the Bobbi Brown sticks. I often use a darker one as an eyeliner and a quick swish and I look decent.
I use Lolas magnetic lashes, and as someone very cack handed think they are great as you can reposition the lashes as many times as you like but they stay put. The new balm remover for the eyeliner is a million times better than the oil they used to supply as getting the magnetic liner off is very hard otherwise

The No.7 sticks are really good, much better than the Bobbi Brown ones and obviously cheaper. They don’t come in a fabulous selection of colours though

@mnahmnah

Elf do some good creamy eyeshadow pencils. You can order through Boots or find in bigger stores.
Another Elf fan, just bought my first and it definitely won't be my last. Great price too!

I have a few Trinny ones but I don't like them at all.

I love Bobbi Brown cream eye shadow sticks and Laura Mercier Caviar sticks - they are the best.

JustLikea · 02/01/2022 20:24

I love my Charlotte Tilbury cream eyeshadow stick

woodhill · 02/01/2022 20:29

I love the BB one In Golden pink, slightly shimmery

Fayelina · 03/01/2022 17:57

My favourite cream shadow was Clinique lid smoothie, loved that one, sadly discontinued and yet to find a replacement I like as much.

Suja1 · 11/01/2022 17:50

Bobbi Brown. Better than Trinny as they go on more smoothly and stay on.

dazzlingdeborahrose · 11/01/2022 19:37

I've had bobbi brown and Trinny. I actually prefer the Trinny. Goes on nicely and doesn't dry out. I did find that the BB ones did dry out quite quickly. I've also used a stick one from Bobbi Brown which I preferred to the pots. Nice and easy to use as well.

Maybellline and on 3 for 2

Bobbi brown ones have always dried and cracked on me. I recently got a trinny pot and it's really good, goes on smoothly and doesn't run or crack.
