cornsilk - lol at secretly beautifying your DSes. Are you ever tempted to take it that bit further? A dab of fake tan...eyelash tint...

cornsilk · 21/12/2007 17:04

I very carefully comb ds1's hair when he's asleep and put conditioner on the ends as well. He's such a scruff!

SpawnChorus · 21/12/2007 17:06

Wish someone could do that to me!

yogimum · 21/12/2007 17:07

I love creme de la mer lip balm. Expensive but has last ages.

MerryAnnSinglemas · 21/12/2007 17:08

did anyone say Burts Bees balm yet ?

murphyslaw · 21/12/2007 17:12

Bobby Brown not cheap at £15 but comes in a really cute silver box that looks facb in the handbag! Yes I am shallow!!!!!

lazawreath · 21/12/2007 17:18

Wow, loads to choose from. Cornsilk, who makes the 8 hour cream?

ajandjjmum · 21/12/2007 17:19

I like the Elizabeth Arden lip stuff - not cheap, but really good for me.

isaidhohoho · 21/12/2007 17:31

another vote for blisteze here - soaks in instead of a grease layer

PestohohohoMonster · 21/12/2007 17:33

Carmex

OliviaMumsnet · 21/12/2007 17:34

Or Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream lip protector is very good

cornsilk · 21/12/2007 17:34

8 hour cream is Elizabeth Arden. It's brilliant stuff tho' some people don't like the smell, so test it first if you want to try it.

lazawreath · 21/12/2007 17:44

I'm going to get some 8 hour cream i think. I just looked at a site and they also do 8 hour body cream.

YOu used to be able to get Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream tinted lipstick/lip balms - were v good, subtle, but felt nice. Not sure whether they still do them though.

In order of do-the-job-ness:

  1. LANSINOH
  2. Elizabeth Arden 8-hr Cream
  3. Vaseline
OhGiveUsAPruniPudding · 21/12/2007 17:50

Lansinoh sorts your lips out overnight btw if you can't bear to wear nipple cream during the day (though it is brilliant lip gloss over lipstick).

(I have said this 100 times on MN and nobody believes me! Try it!!!)

susiecutiemincepies · 21/12/2007 18:00

i am currently using blistex relief cream. I had the most painful sore chapped lips last weekend from going in and out of the cold moving house.

It sorted them out within a day, or maybe two. I also
use Carmex, but couldn't find it when i needed it!

Lanisoh is fab too and goes Such a LONG way, only the teeniest tiniest bit needed.

oh and last but not least... Waitrose Bottom Butter ( which is also fantastically brilliant on sore bottoms, strangely enough...) it is just amazing on sore lips! dont all go yuck... i only use clean fingers to go into it, not dirty bottom touchey ones!

OhGiveUsAPruniPudding · 21/12/2007 18:01
susiecutiemincepies · 21/12/2007 18:09

Oh yes, I DO agree. I found out by accident earlier this year when had a lod on my finger too much, spread onto lips and wow, it is fab. also gave some to a male friend of mine who has an unhealthy obsession with lip balm... gave him a teeny blob and he's gone on about it ever since... he exclaimed

"" wow, my god what IS this amazing stuff "" took the tube read it and a confused look crossed his face, then a slightly digusted one, like i'd just wiped my actual nipples all over his mouth

HUGE vote for Lanisoh

OhGiveUsAPruniPudding · 21/12/2007 18:35

I think I love you susie
I always feel like a freak even mentioning it on MN

BellaBear · 21/12/2007 18:37

Hey!

I said it really early on!

BellaBear on Fri 21-Dec-07 15:59:24

OhGiveUsAPruniPudding · 21/12/2007 18:39

Come and join the lurve then bella

BellaBear · 21/12/2007 18:41

have a big lansinoh-lubricated slurpy kiss then !

Tamum · 21/12/2007 18:46

Rosebud salve is the best ever IM(extensive)E. I bought loads went I went to the US because it's much cheaper there, but I first got it at Urban Outfitters on Oxford St. A pot lasts ages and ages.

OhGiveUsAPruniPudding · 21/12/2007 18:48

Tamum that looks fabulous - I love rose-scented stuff.
And lip balm.
I figure I have one good feature, I'd better look after it (them)!
