Best mascara for a late 40 something…….

Usual No7 mascara is just not cutting it anymore……smudging under eyes and really clumpy plus the new horrid No7 packaging mean I am looking for a new go to.
I wear mascara every day in brown/black as I am very fair haired.
Please recommend your best buys under £30 if possible!

My eyelashes are sparser than in my 30s and the lash itself is like dry hair rather than the normal hair it used to be.

I need a different mascara, nothing too 'big' and something that isn't going to add to the dryness of my lashes.

I’ve been using Kevyn Aucoin volume mascara (dark red tube) after watching a Davina McCall video where she went through what she uses every day - in a very normal non-filtered kind of way. I really like it. It’s tubing so just washes away at night - you can see the little tubes of mascara on your flannel/sink - never smudges.

I'm 48 and use Lancôme big lashes .. it's fab stills on all day no smudges... can't believe I only found it a year ago .. someone got me it as a present !!

Maybelline Collosal , yellow tube with mauve writing on it.

Revitalash - primer and mascara in one tube. Round about £30. It's the only mascara I have re-bought!

I've been looking for this holy grail for years as well!

I've tried virtually all the ones mentioned above and they all smudge on me.

My new find is this one by Urban Decay - it got me through a desperately awful funeral without running. Top marks from me!

@reddevilunited

Essence lash princess £3 in wilko it walks all over my Charlotte tilbury one that cost a fortune
I totally agree. It was flagged up in The Times Style magazine.

I've tried every mascara going, at all price points.
Keep going back to Dior Pump and Volume. About £30 now, but worth every penny.

The lashes tend to become dryer, eyelids change shape (droop) and the skin around the eyes is less elastic as you age which means most people will need to update mascara to reflect any/ all of these changes.

Diego Dalla Palma lash boost. I will never wear another brand. I have fair hair and despite years of brown/blwck mascara I wear the black, but I am assuming they also have a brown/black.

Loreal Telescopic (the gold tube) have used it for years and it's brilliant! No smudging, lasts all day, it grabs every lash and gives great definition.
