What are your favourite fragrances?
I have some newly discovered ones -
Killian Don’t Be Shy - smells sweet - a gourmand fragrance
Tiffany Rose Gold -fruity floral
I bought a discovery set from MFK - Maison Frances Kirkdijhan- they do lovely perfumes but are expensive so a good way to try them out first.

Neroli - Tom Ford (absolutely heavenly & suitable all year round)
Si - Armani
Stella - Stella McCartney
Je t’aime Jane - Bella Freud

Penhaligons Halfeti - vvv expensive though so I bought a £40 tester box with 5 or 6 in.

For me it’s always the same, Laura merciers Ambre and vanille body soufflé, it’s so strong, it’s like perfume and lasts all day, a sort of soft and warm smell. I also layer on a spritz of Burberry London if going out. It’s a fruity floral.

The Burberry London was a surprise, it’s not a brand I ever looked at and my sil bought me a bottle one crimbo years ago and I loved it, she was really surprised and I’m several bottles down now. It seems to layer really well with the Laura mercier.

Estée Lauder - Youth Dew (the bath oil)
Lancôme Poeme
Guerlain- Mitsouko
Guerlain- l'heure bleue
J’adore absolu
Chanel - Coco

I wear others but keep coming back to these.

Lancome Idole is my current favourite but I still love Amarige and Eden as 90s throwbacks.

Scoose · 30/12/2021 10:56

Only ever wear two perfumes.
Givenchy Very Irresistible or Dior Addict.

madamceladon · 30/12/2021 11:01

@Scoose
I've been sampling Tobacco Vanille and I LOVED it. Haven't quite taken the plunge yet as it's so expensive.

Scoose · 30/12/2021 11:52

madam dh bought me the 100ml for Christmas space nk had 15% off for new customers so saved a fair whack. It smells so like my all time favourite which was penhaligons roaring Radcliffe sadly discontinued but it tv has much better longevity it stays on me all day I love it

mumonthehill · 30/12/2021 12:00

Eau de Givenchy- all time favourite
Ds and duraga - new find and had a sample set and love them all
Jo Malone - red Roses
Byredo-gypsy water. Love but too pricey!

JMAngel1 · 30/12/2021 13:07

@Scoose
You have great taste

Scoose · 30/12/2021 13:11

Thanks JM I love perfume!

RosesAndHellebores · 30/12/2021 13:21

I try and try and try. Love Shalimar (grannie), First Van Cleef & Arpels and Chanel No 5 (mother). Both are evocative of times remembered but none are right on me.

I have gone through phases:
Miss Dior
Chanel 19
White Linen (much poo poo'd)
O de Lancome
Hypnose
Tresor Midnight
Dior Blooming something or other
Estee Lauder Modern Muse, eau de parfum

Presently:
Dior J'Adore; and
Cartier Panthere both eau de parfum and toilette (they are quite different)

Also, and bought for parsimonious reasons during lock down: water jasmine eau de toilette by M&S. As cheap as chips but very light and refreshing. Perfect for summer and holidays - not long lasting but at £9 for 100ml who minds squirting it thrice a day.
