Just got some uggs for xmas from an ebay seller in the US. I got my normal size 5- they are quite snug on the calf but on the roomy side in the foot. A friend now tells me I should have got a size smaller as the leather will give and become baggy. Anyone had this happen? Need to work out if I should go through the whole rigmarole of sending them back and awaiting the next size... and I want to wear them now- it's cold!

TIA

my uggs havent got bigger..but I think the general rule is to buy a size smaller because you are supposed to wear them barefoot .although my feet are sometimes 4 or 5 I bought 4. If they fit keep them.i presume you have got tall ones as you say about the calf..bear in mind the size smaller ones may be tighter on the calf

I bought a 5 and they are also snugglier on the calf then the foot. But, I do not wear mine barefoot and no sign on stretching or bagging so far. When I'm not wearing them, I do keep them in their box though, because I know if you keep them standing up, the ankle bit can start to lag down a bit.

If you think they are a comfortable fit then keep them - yes the 4 will be snugglier on the calf and also, what if you get the 4 and discover your toes are right at the end of the boot?

Why not go to an UGG shop in the UK and try on the 4. See if they fit better first, before deciding to return your 5s.

definitely get a size smaller as they are massive around the whole leg and foot area and get even bigger as you wear 'em.

Oh noooo was just going to bump this thread, then realised you lovely people had already answered, thank you BUT as Gemy and dinny say differently I am still stumped! I'm frickin freezing too, and was just going to say right anyone got any advice before I just wear'em (desperate to!) Bolleaux

just wear them !!!! I bought some off the internet (not ugg) before my real uggs and my toes were at the end at was most UNCOMFORTABLE I gave them away !! I have said boots on now and they are roomy at the end but I wear socks ..tis fine. By the time you have sent them back etc it will be spring and they will be out of fashion!!!

threelittlesnowberries · 20/12/2007 17:22

Thats what I thought! Thought the tip of keeping them in box may avoid them getting slouchy. At the mo they are comfy without socks- I thought if they get bigger I will just wear socks. I love them- they are metallic!

i bought my normal size and they are bit big but feels so cozy and always wear socks anyway but i think they are cozy as they are

belcantavinissima · 20/12/2007 17:52

apparently you should buy a size smaller but i am a size 7 1/2 and i couldnt get my fat cankles into the 7 so i have the 8 and they are fine, even without socks. i have only had them since sept though so i guess they might stretch a bit more. but ooh i just luurrve them soooooo much . also i wanted the higher ones but couldnt get them round my leg so got shorter ones (tho not the really weird ankle ones- they are just wrong imo!)

Sparkletastic · 20/12/2007 17:59

Mine are a six and I'm a six 1/2 or 7 in anything vaguely pointy or heeled. I wear them sockless. They haven't stretched but are a bit battered as they are bluddy ancient and I wear them constantly in the winter months. They are ace - wear yours and enjoy the magic!!

threelittlesnowberries · 21/12/2007 20:30

Well I tried them on again and decided they were too big- emailed the seller and they have no size 4 to exchange. So I either wear them or try and sell themmyself(am thinking wear them. In bed- it's blardy freezing)

Thanks all
