Eternity ring help

My husband is buying me an eternity ring for Christmas as we’ve just celebrated a milestone anniversary. My wedding and engagement rings are quite plain and minimal platinum bands (will try to upload pic) so I’m wanting a bit of sparkle! I’m at a loss as to where to start though! My engagement ring is pretty high and I wouldn’t want the rings to clash. I’m lost in a midst of settings and styles. Can anyone help? We have about 1-1.5k to spend! Thanks in advance!

Put on the track, if you like it then you should have put a ring on it,
do the moves.
May not get you the ring but will get you something

Getting lots of inspiration from this thread! I live seeing and hearing about everyone’s ring combos!

Would you consider Moissanite rather than diamond? Man made, almost as hard as diamond, tests as diamond on a diamond tester and is an incredible look alike for diamond at a fraction of the price. Nothing like cubic ziconia. Looks incredibly diamond like.

Here is a video showing a diamond ring next to a moissanite ring in all different cuts. My moissanite ring was off Etsy but is a 1ct solitaire not an eternity although I am going to get a moissanite eternity ring shortly.

Moissanite just has a bit more fire to it.

I have a half eternity from Blue Nile. They're pretty good value anyway but they do have frequent sales so worth waiting for one to make your budget go further.

Mermaid67 · 16/12/2021 21:31

@Aderyn21

Tell your husband to buy you one!
Yes that will work 😂Anyway I don’t want one if I have to tell him, hoped dropping hints might be enough 😂
Heronatemygoldfish · 16/12/2021 21:41

I gave up on DH buying me one so I bought my own. Least I got what I wanted that way!

Hey, I went for a plain wedding band in platinum for practicality and a single stone so when we choose my eternity ring I wanted something a bit blingy . We went for 7 stones for our 7th wedding anniversary it was also the year we successfully conceived and went on to have our baby the following year in 2017. Sentimental but nice to bea able to wear either one at a time or all together if I fancy it.

@FlipperSkipper

I have a plain platinum band and solitaire engagement ring and went for a channel set platinum full eternity ring. I really like the way they look together.
Mine rings are virtually identical to these too, although I wear the engagement and wedding ring the opposite way round. I love my eternity ring and how they all look together
MissMarplesGoddaughter · 17/12/2021 06:45

I've loved seeing everyone's beautiful rings.

Ddot · 17/12/2021 08:27

I'm buying a diamond and emerald one, have you thought about a coloured one. It would look lovely, best with diamond and colour mixed

Ddot · 17/12/2021 08:28

I put mine away and buying monthly, or as my ma says on the never never

CeeceeBloomingdale · 17/12/2021 08:32

I got a diamond wedding ring as my eternity ring as it sat better than traditional styles

Any good local jewellers will be able to guide you. We got my wedding band at a local jewellers,and they shaped it to fit around my engagement ring,it first was plain and then some years later we added diamonds to it on top,I wouldn't bother with diamonds the whole way around

I have a (very old - my Grandmother's) channel set alternating diamond and sapphire eternity ring with my rings that are similar to yours.
I wear them in the "wrong" order tho - eternity first, then wedding band, then engagement ring.

@Mermaid67

I was hoping for tips on how to get an eternity ring, I’ve had two children, my silver anniversary and next year is our 30th and I’m still waiting 😕
Me too GrinI may well buy myself an endurance ring though!
prettybird · 17/12/2021 11:55

Picture of my eternity ring (plus engagement ring and wedding band). Apologies for my nails Blush.

Dh had had a significant budget in mind, but the one that we both liked the best (as I wanted to wear it with my other rings) was only £300 Shock (this was about 15 years ago!)

Mine here (the middle one). DH bought it after I had DS2.
7 stones and matches the stone setting of each of the wedding band and engagement.

Update!

I finally got my ring! Half eternity, 0.5 carat platinum in a claw setting. Sparkly but delicate like the others! I love it!

Not sure which order to wear the rings though! Can anyone help? First world problems I know!

I like it best on top, but I wear my rings in order of acquisition- never understood the idea that the engagement ring comes off & goes above the wedding ring!

I do LOVE the idea of buying yourself an endurance ring though Grin

That's beautiful! Looks lovely on top. You must be thrilled!

rosiebl · 19/01/2022 22:02

You picked so similar to mine. Love it. I wear mine wedding, engagement, eternity. Like your first pic. Congrats!

vjg13 · 21/01/2022 10:39

Beautiful ring, very similar to what I would choose should my husband EVER buy me one! We have only been together for 30 years! Hmm

Thinkle · 21/01/2022 10:50

Definitely first pic, it looks more balanced

Nothingfallingdowntoday · 21/01/2022 13:22

Lovely rings. Try eternity then wedding then engagement. Using the wedding as a keeper/Separator can be nice. Or just have fun and change it up as you feel.

Nice choice though all look great together.
