Items or treatments you’ve saved money on since last two years

Hello. Before the lockdown I admit, I always got my hair done every 4 weeks and my brows and lashes waxed/ tinted every 2/3 weeks. Due too looking like and feeling a horrible mess, I got some black colour ( under a fiver) and did my roots. Mine admittedly is very simple, natural black hair - so a very basic colouring the roots only, I’d never braved it before, mainly because I was damn lazy and liked having the hairdresser do it. I’m saving around £50 doing that myself. Learnt on my nights alone and staring at Sean bean for much longer than I should, I’d watch a few videos on waxing and lash tinting Instead. I’m now able too sort my brows and lashes out, saving around £30 a month. Are there any treatments, items you’ve managed too save on ( please suggest more as my food shopping bill today, I nearly died of shock at the price increase) anything appreciated. Also any good cheap make up products or skincare you discover? Thanks Grin

I have very short hair. During lockdown I bought a set of clippers. I now cut my own, DH's and FIL's hair. I'm currently sporting a No4 that I did yesterday. I'm getting quite good at doing a fade as well. Granted I'm not precious about my hair and I'm happy to shave it off but cutting DH's and FIL's has saved some serious dish over the last 2 years.

I’ve been doing my own nails at a saving of £25pm and started to wax and tint my eyebrows at £15pm, although I’ve negated those savings by stopping all over box dyes and getting balayage at the hairdressers but I’m happier with it.

I grew my grey out and to my surprise I really like the colour...halved my hairdresser bill. Not buying many clothes due to WFH. Sorry, not v helpful!

I used to go to the hairdresser every six weeks to get my colour refreshed and an Olaplex/blowdry - I do it all myself at home now although I am shit at blowdrying.

I haven't been now for thirteen months so I'll have missed maybe eight appointments, which I reckon is a saving of about £1200. I got my eyebrows microbladed with some of that which isn't exactly a saving but I was spending a fortune on products to draw them in with and now I don't have to do anything Smile.
