I love this dress, can I wear it?

I know I can wear anything I choose and often do regardless of what others think, so I suppose what I mean is I love this dress but I'm not sure if I love it for a 52yo!

I'm tallish, fit and slim, I think I have the figure for it, but there's a lot of skin on show. I'm toned "for my age" but definitely tending toward crepey.

I don't actually want to look ridiculous.

Also what do you do about a bra in a dress like that?

I'm imagining it in summer beer gardens....we can dream.

I like it but I think the idea is you don't wear a bra with that dress. So you need to make sure that works okay with the cut out section! It wouldn't work for me, I know that!

It’s lovely, but that kind of halter neck looks bad on everyone unless they’re flat chested, standing straight upright and posing. Imagine the gaping if you’re leaning over the table!

Hmm i don't think you can't wear a bra with that dress. It is nice though. So I would say if your bust is small and perky enough for bra less then go for it

It's lovely and I think you should absolutely wear it if you like it. A fat shortarse like me might struggle to carry it off (and I definitely can't go braless ) but I don't think age is an issue.

Those sticky on cup things could work (I know nothing about them as they'd be like nipple covers on me 😂)

I love it. With that sort of dress or anything backless or off the shoulder I wear silicone nipple covers - I am small chested so not concerned about lack of support.

No reason why you couldn't wear it at 52, providing you are comfortable being braless and having that amount of skin exposed. People pull things off by looking confident and comfortable, a 20 year old model won't look good in a dress if they are clearly self conscious and constantly adjusting.

OP, I have very small boobs and lockdown has made me hate bras, so have been going out without one depending on the outfit, try it on and see, it's a gorgeous dress.

I think as @SingleHandSue says above, these things only suit a very narrow range of body types, in a very narrow range of poses/situations. So for me, it would be a no but of course, YMMV.

Maybe more of a Med. holiday dress than British pub garden?

But the crossover style isn't very exposed at the front (depending on your shape), and if it felt like too little at the back you can always add some sort of wrap I guess.

Definitely wear it, it’s lovely. Everyone gets crepey, we have to normalise the crepe, not hide it!
