My Ariat Windermeres have died, any suggestions that aren't Dubarry.

My faithful Windermeres have given up on me, I use them only for mucking out and sloshing about knee deep in muddy paddocks.

They were so comfortable, but, before I buy another pair are there any others I need to have a look at first?

I don't find Dubarry comfortable at all, I need warm and waterproof.

Shall I just stick with my Ariat or try something else?

Stick to the Ariat. There is nothing better! I've had/have many pairs of Ariats over the years, including the Windermeres and no other brand holds up to them.

Though having said that, I never wear them to muck out in; just wellies. The urine destroys the leather and I want them to last!

For messy yard work, have you considered Muck Boots? Not attractive, I know, but they keep me so warm in the winter. Even DH has stopped complaining so much about helping with the ponies when he has his on.

Very ugly! But love the fleece lining, are they comfortable? My Ariats are like slippers!

[quote SprayedWithDettol]I have these. Wellies not country boots but they are fabulous. They have outlived anything else I have had and are warm and v comfortable.

They've lasted me almost 7 years, I really don't want to give them up!

Then get another pair. But stop wearing them for mucking out! Then they'll last 10 years plus.

Aigle parcours. Comfy, very warm and supportive. I can walk miles in them.

Polkadotties · 10/12/2021 17:27

Muck boots. Very comfortable and warm.

WildFlowerBees · 10/12/2021 18:09

I've gone for a pair of the Aigle parcours, I'm going to try and revive my Ariats for dry weather.

Back in the day when I had horses, I wore Mountain Horse long boots for everything, from mucking out, to riding out. They were absolutely brilliant!

GuyFawkesDay · 10/12/2021 18:42

Bareback boots are AMAZING. Replaced my old mountain horse ones
