After being told by almighty cod last week that I couldn't possibly wear smart jeans for a drinks party, i bought this top and was thinking of wearing it with 3/4 length charcoal grey trews....

SHould i wear flattie sparly silver shoes, or should I go for these which I already have www.shoestudio.com/fcp-prod/PiedATerre/Shoes/2236/ATTENTION/

those shoes are lovely

JingleyJen · 18/12/2007 09:35

looks lovely but it says it is out of stock - do you already have it?

hoarsewhisperer · 18/12/2007 09:45

yup Jingley- I bought it last week, it was the last one in the shop.

Hoxton chick - the shoes are lovely, and make me a whole 10cm taller, but you wouldn't want to walk very far in them!

I like the top and the heels, but am not convinced about 3/4 length grey trousers. If you're really not sure about the jeans, what about a nice smart pair of full length eveningy black trousers? What sort of drinks party? The jeans, if they're nice smart ones might be okay you know. I went to a Christmas do at a hotel on Saturday wearing a black dress, thinking everyone was going to be uber smart and evening clad, and they weren't. I almost went to the hairdresser for 'party hair' but had to cancel as I didn;t have time for it. I'm bloody glad I didn't go I would have felt like a right tit. Quite often with these do's, people aren't as 'done up' as you think they're going to be.

marvellous!

Those tights look good. I've got one of those bodyshapers (looks a bit like cycling shorts) they are good, but bloody hell it's like being squeezed into a toilet roll tube.

The party is ours and being held at our house. Was supposed to be a few mates coming round for a drink, but has kind of got larger and larger and is now about 40 odd people coming. It's likely to be reasonably casual, but as hostess (hopefully with the mostest) I feel I should be a little more dressed...want to look a bit festive. May still go for the jeans option with the top and heels...will see how fat i am feeling on the day!

You think the tights are good...you should try this which I also own.

I bought it post ds2 as i was told by an old lady that you can get your waist back if you corset yourself in post delivery for a good few hours every day...it worked....still have a 25 inch waist! Can get down to 22 with this on, but can't cope with wearing it for more than about 12 hours at a time......Amazing the number of people who tell me "my God...you've lost weight" every time I wear it. I LOVE IT..

Hw, the top looks great, and the shoes. Don't get too hung up on what other people want you to wear though. It's your party. You need to feel comfortable and enjoy yourself! Hope it's a success.
