Facial hair removal of you use tretinoin?

LefttoherownDevizes · 06/12/2021 20:10

My normal place that waxes my entire face says I need to stop the tret for a month before she'll wax me, which obviously it's going to mean the tret isn't going to be worth doing if I keep having to stop.

What do others do? I need to do tache, chin, neck, sideburns and then eyebrows

Try one of those springy things?

RogueV · 06/12/2021 20:50

I have my eyebrows threading and IPL the rest!

RogueV · 06/12/2021 20:51

Do not have it waxed, it’ll literally rip your skin off

Moutainwoman · 06/12/2021 20:53

Facial epilator? Does hurt but not for long 😊

Yes DO NOT wax. And step away from that cream you get use at home too.
Nefelibata86 · 06/12/2021 21:00

What Rogue said above. I thought I would be scarred for life

LefttoherownDevizes · 06/12/2021 21:20

Thank you. Interesting about IPL though, I'll look into that.

I have a springy thing, really didn't get on with it, but also have an epilator, just assumed it wouldn't be safe also the one time I tried to use it on my cheeks I caught some of my hair and genuinely thought I'd scalped myself

Threading? I get my whole face done now

XiCi · 06/12/2021 21:41

Oh god yes, stop waxing, awful for the skin.
I dermablade. Quick, easy and effective

WilliamofBaskerville · 06/12/2021 21:44

Can you really still use IPL if you use tretinoin? I stopped using mine on my face because the tret makes it light-sensitive and I assumed the IPL would damage it. Which is a real shame as I had almost got rid of my tache!

LefttoherownDevizes · 07/12/2021 06:11

@XiCi does it not grow back as stubble? Last thing I want is stubblier cheeks that DH

Grin no it doesn't, and I've been dermaplaning for years. I use the shiseido facial blades from Amazon. Theres lots of tutorial videos on YouTube.

LefttoherownDevizes · 07/12/2021 07:33

ooh thanks, do you use for neck/chin/tache too or only cheeks?

OP posts:
Thatsplentyjack · 07/12/2021 07:37

Can I ask why?

runwithme · 07/12/2021 07:37

I use the blades too. Cheap, simple and convenient. No stubble, no nicking, just smoother skin.

Yes, whole face, the tutorials are very good and worth watching so you angle the blade correctly. I dont have any hair on my neck so don't use it there
LefttoherownDevizes · 07/12/2021 09:21

Lucky you !

Have just ordered the Shiseido ones to try from Amazon, thank you

I would contact a salon that does dermablading!
If they will do it whilst using the Tret then get it done professionally first.
You can get a feel for her technique and what products she uses (oils etc).
If it works then you can buy the stuff to do it at home!
But I would really recommend getting it done professionally first

I honestly wouldn't waste money doing this. Ive been dermplaning for years and it's very easy to do at home. I also use Tret and have never had a problem
