Hosting day to night party at home - what to wear?

I’m hosting a small birthday party for a family friend at home in a couple of weeks. Guests are in their 20s mainly, I’m mid-40s with 3 young DC. I want to wear something that is not jeans and a nice top as I wear that daily. I want to look great, but not overdressed as I think the guests will be fairly casual and I don’t want to make them feel uncomfortable. I am a size 12, 5’7 and totally stuck for ideas. Please help!

Thanks@waltzingparrot, I thought about jumpsuit but mine is definitely more eveningwear. I’ll keep it as an option though.

I’m watching with interest as I’m the same size as you and have similar requirements for a day to night Christmas outfit.

I was thinking maybe opaque tights and jumper dress?

Thanks @CrumpledCrumpet but those types of dresses swamp me. Am thinking jumpsuit or possibly a wrap dress but feel mine have too much of an office wear feel
