What sort of jacket would you wear with leather/pleather/coated trousers?

I’ve got a nice (well I think so) outfit planned - black pleather leggings, high neck jumper and chunky Chelsea boots - but I have no idea what kind of coat will look cool and modern. Certainly nothing that I currently own!

I wear a wool coat with mine.

What sort of look are you going for?
Eg classic or trendy.

Classic: wool fitted coat
Trendy: oversized and boxy - shacket or similar

Long, wool, belted. Not a short jacket

I'd go with wool coat.

To answer the above I’m late 40s, short and size 16-18 but the trousers are surprisingly flattering. I’d like to look cool and classy maybe with a slight ‘edge’. I realise this is unlikely 😂

Oversized faux fur

I wear this sort of outfit all the time.

I have this coat from Hush and also the red version. Looks good (I think).

I pair a similar outfit with my Crombie style mid thigh coat. You can get affordable, non-lined versions.

I either wear my teddy, or wool coat. Thigh length.

It must be matt

Or if you want more jacket than coat, a loose fit wool blazer would work
