Soft warm socks

I'm fed up of my feet either being cold (in normal socks) or stiff, itchy and uncomfortable (in hiking type socks). I want some super soft, warm, comfy socks - thin enough to wear comfortably with boots - that stay soft after many washes.

Recommend me your socks!

I only like long, knee length socks in the winter, used to find loads of nice bright coloured ones on markets, years ago, but not seen any for ages. Getting a bit low now, anyone seen any? (sorry to hijack thread)
