My L K Bennett boots are now in the sale

I treated myself to a lovely pair of LKB boots a couple of weeks ago and now they’re in the Black Friday sale with over £100 off!
Not sure if I should buy another pair and return with the original receipt or whether they’d give me the difference if I ring them. £100 is a lot of money!
Anyone tried this? xx

Isn’t that life?

SouthOfFrance · 26/11/2021 17:59

Have you worn them yet? Think it would be better to return the old pair and buy the new one, calling them would be a bit cheeky

LizzieSiddal · 26/11/2021 18:00

If they’re worn no you can’t return them. You could try ringing them.

UninspiredUsername1 · 26/11/2021 18:03

I'd buy another pair and return those with original receipt!

bratzdoll · 26/11/2021 18:03

You can exchange for the current price and they'll honour it. Never heard of the brand but is there an actual store you can go into? It's usually easier that way providing you have a receipt

winniemum · 26/11/2021 18:04

No not worn.
Wondered if they had the same policy as John Lewis. You can just take your original receipt in and they’ll give you the difference apparently!

Thanks uninspired think I’ll do that!

If you bought them in store they will give you store credit rather than a refund. If you bought then online you have 14 days from the day of purchase to return them.

CorrBlimeyGG · 26/11/2021 18:09

LK Bennett offer returns within twenty eight days of purchase. The information is on their website.

If you bought them in store they will give you store credit rather than a refund

That's wrong. The correct information is on the website.

PrawnStars · 26/11/2021 18:17

Lots of incorrect advice here

Providing they are unworn and boxed and you have proof of purchase, simply return them. You'll be refunded what you paid.

In the meantime, just buy them at £100 off now.

PrawnStars · 26/11/2021 18:17

@Mamiamamia I think you just made that up!

I definitely would, and have. Are you sure they’ll have them in store though, or will you order online?

thelegohooverer · 26/11/2021 18:54

I haven’t found them great for facilitating returns.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 26/11/2021 18:56

I’ve done this loads (ringing the company to ask them to honour a discount) - you have nothing to lose if you are still within the time frame for returns, whereas they will have to bear the cost of posting you a new pair and processing a return. It’s definitely worth a try!

UpInTheAttic · 26/11/2021 19:08

I've also asked a company if they would honour a discount otherwise I'd be sending back and ordering again. They refused so I did exactly that.

I'd definitely buy them again in the sales if I were you.

Peppercorn9 · 26/11/2021 19:11

I'd buy another pair and return those with original receipt!

I'd do this too (and have done) but do contact them first in case they'll honour the discount and save you the hassle!

MargosKaftan · 26/11/2021 19:48

That's the legal minimum they have to offer, as others have said, actual LK Bennett terms are far more generous (and as the OP bought from them, they must honour their own Ts and Cs). Id order them again now and return the originals if unworn.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 26/11/2021 20:06

I'd buy another pair and return those with original receipt!

I've just done this!

winniemum · 26/11/2021 22:10

Ordered again and will return original pair! For £100 it’s worth it! Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, this ^^

Try them first. Might save you the pain of returning and reordering.

Yoyooo · 26/11/2021 22:42

Some stores do price adjustments for items which later go into the sale - contact their customer service department in the first instance.

JinglingHellsBells · 26/11/2021 22:49

Highly unlikely they will refund the difference. Why would they? Stores can't do this for sale items or where would they draw the line?
When this has happened to me, I've returned the originals and bought the newer reduced ones.

Be aware that M&S will only refund at the current price (ie the sale price) not what you paid. (I know it's not M&S but the same might apply.)

PomRuns · 26/11/2021 22:56

M&S now track via the bar code where you purchased. I tried to exchange something that was a few days outside the return period and was told I couldn't. I didn't have the receipt but she could tell where I had purchased and when by typing in the code on the label.
