I am 39 and have a ridiculously wrinkly forehead, recently I've just had a blunt fringe to hide it, but is there any way to disguise it using make up?

yorkshiremum2022 · 25/11/2021 16:06

What is the right way to apply concealer? And should it be lighter/darker than your foundation?

CatNamedEaster · 25/11/2021 17:28

How do I make small round eyes look a bit wider (across, not wider open Grin)?
And what's the best mascara for that shape eye - lengthening or thickening?

Ifrozethehoumous · 25/11/2021 17:55

What is the best moisturiser for more mature skin?

Strictlydusting · 25/11/2021 17:59

All the primers I have tried just make my pores look huge as they sit in them rather than gliding over them. I end up looking like a leopard when I add foundation on top. Am I applying it wrong?

SylviaTrench · 25/11/2021 18:56

I'd like advice on the best technique for applying foundation please, so that you get a decent coverage, without it looking too caked-on.

Also, a recent thread on the S&B board here discussed if putting eyeliner on the lower lash line is dated and/or ageing. I've been wearing it like that for about 35 years so it's a hard habit to drop. I'd be interested to hear your opinion, thanks!

GiantCheeseMonster · 25/11/2021 20:26

How do you do batwing eyeliner? I can never get them the same and I always get a really wobbly line.

Faevern · 25/11/2021 20:32

How do I use concealer on shadows under eye, whatever I have tried they look the same and sometimes make the skin look dry.

Newchallenge · 25/11/2021 21:18

Is there any very simple hack you can recommend for foundation (or whatever you are supposed to use these days?) I can't get on with contouring etc.

Westerman · 25/11/2021 22:45

Hi Donna.

I use eyeliner on my upper lash line only. No matter what type of product I try, however, it always ends up under my eyes! I don't think my eyelids are especially oily and I always leave plenty of time after applying my moisturisers; is there anything I can do, or any product I can use, to keep the eyeliner where I put it?

Thank you.

BreadInCaptivity · 26/11/2021 00:44

Best foundations/tinted moisturisers for dry mature skin.

In context:

I suffer from eczema.

I use Hyaluronic serum to ensure against skin dehydration and have a good skincare regimen.

I still find so many formulations really drying/ageing.

They look good when you initially apply but over the day they don't cut it and powder/crease.

The two brands that work for me are a) Suquu which is brilliant but very price heavy and sometimes too heavy coverage and b) Trinny De-Stress which is also pricy but too light coverage at times.

Is there a happy medium you can recommend?

CimCardashian · 26/11/2021 00:54

Best eye make up look for hooded eyes please?

Rina66 · 26/11/2021 06:13

What's the best mascara for holding a curl after using eyelash curlers on super straight lashes?

Lndnmummy · 26/11/2021 13:07

Idiot proof way of applying a cream or stick blush please?

Passthewinebottle · 26/11/2021 15:30

Ooh this is a great Q&A idea! 👏🏼

So, if I get my make up done by an MUA, it can stay on for 12 hours or more, I mean that it looks freshly done (aside from lips maybe) - is there a key tip or 2 to achieve this myself?

Secondly, I think I noticed that eyes are done first with no foundation or any product under - is that right? Or maybe they use a lid primer?

Thanks!

FreshFaceTime · 27/11/2021 09:49

What lipstick are you wearing in that photo? It's lovely.

RampantIvy · 27/11/2021 09:54

@CimCardashian

Best eye make up look for hooded eyes please?
Mine are wrinkly as well as hooded, so I would like to piggy back on this question.
tinkywinkyshandbag · 27/11/2021 13:20

How can I stop my make up from "disappearing" through the day? I start off okay but by lunchtime it's all faded and looks as if I'm not wearing anyway.

purplesequins · 27/11/2021 14:20

about hair removal and make up: how does one best use make up or technique to minimise showing up differences in skin texture around the beard mouth are.

Bubbleyum · 27/11/2021 17:52

Would you prefer to live in a world where people accept themselves as they rather than continually striving to look different?

Horsemad · 27/11/2021 21:15

Hello, can you recommend the best concealer/foundation to disguise thread veins please? Mine always sinks into the skin throughout the day. 🤨

NuckingFightmare · 27/11/2021 23:38

How to apply eyeliner for idiots? I've tried every type I think, and I can't bloody do it!
Also as a pp asked, why do mua videos do eye makeup first? Doesn't applying foundation after muck it up a bit?

MuthaHubbard · 28/11/2021 08:58

Foundation - other than a BB type cream, foundation always seems to look cakey/flakey on me and just doesn't sit right.
Recently had my make up done by an mua and it was amazing - it didn't feel like she did a lot but what's she doing/using that's different?

GrandPrismatic · 28/11/2021 09:17

Another eyeliner question…I’ve always used liquid liner on my top lashes. Not quite full on batwing but right up against the lashes. As I’ve got older and my eyelids have gotten wrinklier, it often looks uneven and bitty instead of a nice smooth line. Am gutted! How can I recreate the look with my wrinkly eyes! I have always pulled the skin taut to apply but I think this makes my wrinkles worse!

goose1964 · 28/11/2021 11:47

I wear glasses and even if I wear eyeshadow it's not really that visible. I also have a similar problem with blusher as my glasses sit just above my cheekbone .

Any idea how I could solve this.
