Longer/oversized hoodie.

I know exactly what I want but haven’t found anything perfect so I’d be grateful for some expert help please.

Needs to be less than £50 (or very near), proper sweatshirt fabric with a soft lining inside, a kangaroo pocket, cover my arse/reach mid thigh and have a proper cuffed hem.
I’ve looked in lots of high street places and sport shops (lots of baggy cropped styles which must only look good on much younger, thinner girls). I’ve looked at men’s which just get wider, not longer, and upsizing on basic women’s versions but I’m a size 16/18 and tall so buying a couple of sizes bigger isn’t really an option. There are lots of longline hoodies but without the cuffed hem and I want it to be fitted round the hem so not a dress.
I’m not so fussy about colour but I don’t like navy and nothing too pale, plainer is better but not a dealbreaker.
Seems ridiculous that I seem to be looking for a hoodie unicorn.

This one from Adidas - currently in a 20-22 on ASOS but sure if you Google it, it should come up with smaller sizes elsewhere.

I adore mine, the colour is really flattering too.

Have you looked at Passenger? I have a lovely longer length open fronted one from there

I’ll be back in a bit. Need to get dd to bed before GBBO Cake

Actually, there are quite a few on Next if you search for longline hoodie.

onitlikeacarbonnet · 23/11/2021 20:44

I’m afraid it’s a bit too dress-y cactus and the matalan one is not oversized enough cause I’m a fat lass I can’t size up.

Cactus I looked at next online for hours but the ones that are perfect length have split hems or are zip ups Sad

I recently got one from Elsie's Attic and I love it so much! I had very similar requirements to you. I've heard Hari and the gang are good too.

HardonCollider · 23/11/2021 20:51

www.wildlikeher.co.uk/ I have the note to self hoodie from here and it’s quite long 😊

l got a couple from Amazon, l am tall and they fit me well.
l also saw some nice ones in Superdry, about £55.00, but good quality.

wherethecrawdadsare · 23/11/2021 23:24

I have a question!! I'm not even remotely stylish so love looking at all these questions and answers. What will you wear with this hoody? I love the Jack wills one. What shoes/ trousers? Assume leggings? I'm small (5'5") and size 10 so I want to make sure I don't look like a little girl in her dads clothes!!

onitlikeacarbonnet · 24/11/2021 07:57

Sorry for not coming back last night.
Thanks cactus and arsenic and others who’ve linked to lots.
I’m working my way through.

I hadn’t looked before at the men’s depts and I like the one you linked to Cactus. It’s not oversized in the pics but should be easier to size up. I’ll head to the local big store to have a look.

The Elsie’s Attic ones are gorgeous too. Love the thumb holes! Might be added to the xmas list as an alternative to the Neonmarl ones linked earlier.

I’m really sorry to all those who’ve found things that aren’t quite right. I gave up myself after a very long fruitless day trying every shop in town. I’m fussy because I buy things for myself so rarely due to my budget. I don’t have much money generally and this was supposed to be a birthday gift from my DP and I’m adding a little to it so I can get something good quality that will last. It was my birthday last month and my DP keeps joking he’ll be wrapping it up in xmas paper.

I've bought them recently online at Asos, Debenhams and H&M. Try searching for hoodie dress as they are often listed that way.

LadyCatStark · 24/11/2021 08:07

I’ve got a couple from Superdry.

R0tational · 24/11/2021 08:09

I have bought a couple of these from surfer/skiing shops and also TK Max.

onitlikeacarbonnet · 24/11/2021 08:21

wherethecraw… I’m thinking with leggings at home to avoid putting the heating on.
Or on the school run/food shop with jeans and boots/gutties.
I think I am going for the wee girl in dads jumper (but not so easy when your 5’9” and size 18 🙈

onitlikeacarbonnet · 24/11/2021 08:30

I love the thickness and quality of the hoodies in superdry but unfortunately they do not cater to my size. Their xl is probably a 16 and I’m a GG. Even their xl men’s isn’t roomy enough.

I think I’m going to have to compromise some where.

mrsrhodgilbert · 24/11/2021 11:51

Keep an eye on the Cos website. I don’t think they have what you want right now but anything termed relaxed fit really is very roomy
