I've recently started dying my hair. I use L'Oreal Castings. I assume all hair dyes have similar instructions, but you're meant to squeeze the tube of colour into a bottle of reactive agent(?).

The think is, I have very short hair (less than 2") and I reckon I could easily get away with using only half.

Could I just mix half the tube with half the bottle in a bowl, rather than shaking the whole lot together? Would the remaining unmixed ingredients keep until my next hair-dying session?

Thanks

Yes you can use half of each ingredient, I used to do that for doing my roots.

I used to keep the remaining half for the next 'cover the bathroom in black goo' session. (Why does it go black? WHY? I was going blonde!)

Disclaimer: I had a reckless attitude to my hair colour and you should always do a strand test etc.

yes, as long as unlixed and sealed tight they will keep.

be sure to get quantities as near as dammit half half each tho - dont want the chemical reactions to go awry.

what colour is it? if its blond, or lighter at all, cover your head with cling film for the time its on your head to stop it going all orange and home-dyed looking.

lol

iwas reckless too when i had short short hair and dyed it all the time. mostly blond, sometimes other colours. doesnt matter how bad you treat your hair if it gets chopped off so frequently does it?

am toying with going cropped again... have v 'safe' longish hair atm...

hah - unlixed = unmixed.

Thanks!

I'm going brown(er), so it's not too risky colourwise. Just to cover a few grey hairs and give a bit more oomph.
