What shoes to wear with this knitted dress?

I've been wearing this dress with tights and black chunky boots but I'm looking for ideas without tights as the material kind of sticks to the tights and makes it bunch up at the bottom.

I was thinking hi top trainers, I tried my converse but i think chunkier ones would look better.

Does anyone have any recommendations of chunky hi tops trainers in neutral colours?

Converse with a platform sole? I have white leather ones and they definitely give a more chunky look.

What about wearing a slip under the dress to stop it bunching up

This is what I would do.

It's a bit awkward as it bunches up at the calves so i think I'll have to get a really long slip.

And i was in Primark and spotted a pair of converse style trainers that have a slight platform in a taupe colour and they're fur lined for £12! They're lovely and really comfy so I'll try them on with the dress and i think it'll work

If you do want lower leg coverage I find that jumper dresses don't tend to stick to leggings in the way they stick to tights.

Also, if you rub body lotion into your tights once they're on your legs, the bunching should stop. Carry a small tube of hand cream in your bag in case it comes back.

Curse of the static cling.

Glad you've found shoes OP.

Ooh must try the body lotion tip. Have tried the hairspray one but it doesn't work!

Thanks I'll try this too for the winter months
