Look fabulous in a week

I would like to look fabulous for Friday and I just caught sight of myself and I definitely don't! I look bloated and tired. I plan to go low carb but is there any other fun tips? I do 15k steps a day but eat 1/3 olive loaf from the Coop each day too which might be contributing to this weight. It's first on the list to go....

I started using The Ordinary for my skin and within a couple of days it was transformed.

Along with the other advice given, take vitamin D if you don't already. Lots of benefits when natural sunlight levels are low.

I wonder how many men will be switching to cauliflower rice this week

mrssmiling · 21/11/2021 08:35

This Optibac ‘One Week Flat’ is good - reduces bloating, and seems to ‘reset’ system.

Lots of good advice already, but a series of early nights costs nothing and works wonders - also drinking more water!
Clarins Beauty Flash Balm is great to use as a treatment mask, and on the night itself - really brightens and tightens skin. Hope it all goes well!

Eat healthy, lots of fruits and veggies
Get enough sleep
Go for a walk for at least 30-60 minutes per day. You could lose a bit of weight which really boosts your confidence and will generally make clothes fit nicer
Sexy underwear
Give yourself a manicure/ pedicure and do your hair. Use a hair mask whenever you wash it.
Vitamin C serums and masks always have an immediate positive effect on my skin
As do fruit acidic peelings
Bodylotion every day
Buy yourself a new lipstick

LoveLabradors · 21/11/2021 11:10

TK Maxx are good for sheet masks. They often have biodegradable ones too.

LoveLabradors · 21/11/2021 11:12

A big scoop of Epsom salts and a good soak the night before.

wizzywig · 21/11/2021 11:15

But what's happening on Friday? Can we come?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/11/2021 13:20

Italian Korean cloths .
Soak in a hot , plain water bath ( that's the worst bit , I don't like a bath and if I do , not a plain water one ) then buff , and OMG , the skin they take off Shock

I have used those exfoliating gloves before but they left my skin itchy and feeling like a size too small.

Skin like a baby's bottom Grin

Creepypastard · 21/11/2021 13:50

RosesAndHellebores · 21/11/2021 13:55

No alcohol
No carbs
Nothing processed
2l water

Moisturiser day and night
Clean hair

Walk tall bottom in, shoulders straight.

AntiCornLawLeague · 21/11/2021 14:18

No booze! Need to follow that advice myself.

Good luck with the date!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/11/2021 14:21

Creepy I got mine on Amazon (ages ago) they last a good while .

I had a post-flu-jab ill person bath yesterday but wasn't up for reaching round to scrub myself

Soak about 30 minutes read a book Grin

TheCategoryIs · 21/11/2021 16:44

Definitely sleep! Nothing else like it

Eesha · 21/11/2021 18:33

@70isaLimitNotaTarget I have these and they are truly amazing but I want to avoid looking perfect underneath in case it tempts me to do certain things too early!

Well that’s got me running out to buy one Grin

Maybe feeling perfect underneath will make you confident and glowing?

Eesha · 22/11/2021 09:54

@Helpstopthepain you're right, I might just try and look good underneath just for confidence

Update: went carb free for 2 days and my stomach already looks flatter. Will try the 2L water today. Yay!

You'll need some carbs for energy, I think it's perfectly ok to avoid bread, pasta etc. just make sure you're getting some from vegetables such as sweet potato or butternut squash. If you do NO carbs ketosis could kick in by Friday and you could find yourself feeling drained and possibly with digestive upset & smelly breath to boot.
Very NOT fabulous!

PenelopeVonDelius · 23/11/2021 20:53

Was about to mention keto breath! It really stinks. So I agree that having a few carbs rom veg might be more attractive than keto.

Buttercup72 · 24/11/2021 00:32

Drink kefir - you can get flavoured versions and it’s much like a yoghurt drink but has even more probiotics.
This has made an amazing difference to my health - and as a nice aside one of the first benefits was my skin really cleared up.

Buttercup72 · 24/11/2021 00:34

It also can help with bloating, tiredness, weight loss etc, gut health is linked to everything.

KittyWindbag · 24/11/2021 05:35

Try and get as many early nights as you can. Lots and lots of good sleep.

Loads of water, no alcohol (cry)
No sugar
Fewer white carbs
Proper skincare in the morning and night with a facial massage if you can

L’Oréal wonder water for hair. Omg a miracle product if ever there was one.

Eesha · 24/11/2021 06:34

Honestly my date has called me most evenings for a chat and I'm shattered. Today an early one!

TheRealHousewife · 24/11/2021 07:11

It isn’t water you need for skin. It’s salmon or rather more specifically omegas. Salmon 3 or 5 times in a week = blooming glowing complexion. Promise 😊

Eesha · 24/11/2021 16:47

@TheRealHousewife I'm not very fishy but trying to drink more water etc this week. Unfortunately coming down with a cold but getting hair, nails and threading done tomorrow
