If I want to never wear high heels again, what do I wear for going out?

Day to day I wear trainers or flattish boots all the time, but if I wear a dress I almost always wear heels because my legs are short and dumpy.

But I don't want to have sore feet all night and not be able to dance and fall over and break my finger on the way home any more.

What do all of you who don't wear heels wear instead?

@goose1964

I find flats not smart enough or they look like ones your posh great aunt would wear. Pointed flats don't work on my rounded toes. I'd find a pair of mid height helps and wear those
well we are all different, point flats look great with my legs so on rare occasions i'd wear them!

When i think 'heels' i think stilettos - which i haven't worn for yonks now and am unlikely to again.

Personally 'fancy' flat look ridiculous on me, so if going somewhere a bit swish i would wear ankle boots with a heel or (in summer) wedge heeled sandals.

Having spent the last 18+ months in flip flops or trainers (because of going nowhere fancy) my feet are so soft and sensitive now i recon even my ankle boots would hurt Hmm

I'm quite fond of a kitten heel personally. They add a bit of elegance and I feel more ladylike in them but they're also safe for dancing GrinGlitterball

Oh i also have this problem, we have lots of casual bars in our town, so not a pub but not a bar where you'd where heels... somewhere inbetween. Normally go for ankle boots but they just really look clunky sometimes!

I wore these on a night out recently for the same reason, fed up of sore feet! They were very comfy, forgot I had them on tbh! www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08CBDJRH2/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_PTXZ06QFX7Q33E401DNB?psc=1

Vans. Preferably Mario Vans or ones with burgers on.

I have silver pointed flats, or patent black ankle strap flats that are my go tos.
I still wear heals occasionally though, generally ankle boots.

I was never really one for heels and even less so the last couple of years. I do have a pair of chunkyish mid-calf boots with a block heel though that I love with skirts and make me feel a lot more dressed up than my day to day flat boots. They're incredibly comfy, I can stand or dance in them all night quite happily. They were second hand and I've no idea what brand.

In a situation where only heels will do, ie black tie, I find block heels really useful
