What footwear with cropped, black slim leg trousers?

Have managed to bag myself a bargain in TK Maxxx - a pair of French Connection black 'going out' trousers for £8 - they have a slight sparkle to them so ideal for The Christmas Do but.....

do I wear flat ballet pumps, high killer heels shoes or black boots?

No boots, but the other two should be ok. I like ballet pumps with capri pants

For going out: really good high heels with very chunky heel - preferably patent or bright colour.
