Hold up stockings....

my arse....last seen rolling down my leg towards my amazing ruby shoes - not happy!

and the lining of my skirt appears to be one size smaller than the skirt - skirt fits until I sat down to put on shoes and ripppppp - there it went.

bugger - and the shops are shut now so can get tights - would it be bad to go bear legged?

Said on one fashion show, to always buy hold ups one size larger than your normal size, to stop that .... muffin top leg look!

ipodtherforipoor · 14/12/2007 17:58

have already got mugffin top legs without them!!!!

bugger! - why do Evans sell this things if fat chicks just cant wear them!
It only encourages me!
Back to the Jeans and stipey socks combo tomorrow - but tonight I wanted to look hot!

I never wear them.

My one foray into hold up stockings ended badly when I got off a train after a long journey, stretched a bit and was suddenly standing in two stocking puddles on the busy platform just as long lost boyfriend arrived to meet me. Not a good look

ipodtherforipoor · 14/12/2007 18:04

just taken the offending items off - only have black tights - am going with bear legs and a wine or three!

as a large lady myself i get so fed up with evans TBH. Lots of the things they seel are so unsuitable for larger ladys. I myself bought some control pants ( wont hide the bumps but will certainly stop the owbble) BUT i bought my actual size and they dont fit!!!!! Am gonna be wobbly tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!

littleboo · 14/12/2007 18:05

ipod, didn't mean YOU had muffin top legs, think that happens to all in hold ups... or they fall down

littleboo · 14/12/2007 18:06

How about tesco's they are bound to sell them

paulaplumpbottom · 14/12/2007 18:07

I think unless you have small thighs hold ups just don't work.

ipodtherforipoor · 14/12/2007 18:07

not up to my size unforunaetly - evans or nought i'm afraid!

very best hold up I find are M&S - tried some tesco ones the other day and the left one kept ending up round my knee

not good as I was walking across a car park with my male boss trying to keep it out of public sight

CountessDraculaboredofxmasname · 14/12/2007 19:54

Oh i LOVE hold ups
I always wear them, can't bear tights

M&S are good I agree

moondog · 14/12/2007 19:54

rofl at 'bear' legs

You need a quick shave then...

moondog · 14/12/2007 19:55

Tights.
Surely the single most unattractive item of clothing there is.....

CountessDraculaboredofxmasname · 14/12/2007 20:03

yes
vile
they cut you in half
and I bet they give you a stinky fanjo

Gemy · 14/12/2007 21:37

Another fan of hold-ups; much prefer them to tights. M&S for me, or sock shop were my favourite (but I haven't seen a sock shop for ages.....)

Plus hold-ups make for a very happy husband

ipodtherforipoor · 16/12/2007 10:13

didn't have bear legs in the end - did shave them!
