Trousers that don't gape at the waist?

I'm really struggling with clothes atm and wondered if S&B would come to my aid.
I'm 5ft 5 and a size 10 yet most clothes look crap on me. Trousers in particular are a nightmare.

I have chunky legs for my size, boyish hips, a slightly chubby backside and a slim waist. To get trousers to fit over my legs and bum I often need to size up but inevitably they then gape at the waist.
Smart trousers then hang lower than they should and emphasis my non existent hips even more. And because I'm long bodied, said trousers are way too long. (petite length too short though)

Can anyone related? Or recommend somewhere that caters for my odd figure? 🙏

Watching with interest as have basically the same body but I'm 5ft.
At least with jeans I can use a belt!

Levis ribcage for jeans. Very high waist and then looser over hips and legs. Buy the size to fit your waist. My waist is 13 inches smaller than my lower hip (bum) and usually have to wear everything in stretch material, but these work fine. If they work for you go for a similar cut in trousers.

I quite often have to get trousers and jeans tailored because of this.
Or go for elasticated waist - a lot about at the moment.

I gave up on fitted waists years ago, same reason. I wear elasticated waists but I've found that even those gaps slightly but I suspect they're now too big as I've lost weight

This is my solution to the problem - it's stretchy, not bulky, has silicone on the back so stays put, and you don't have to undo it to pull the trousers down!

Also following with interest. I don't have exactly the same issues - my waist is not nipped in and I'm a bit more straight up and down in one plane, but I do have a large bum and chunky thighs and I do get exactly the same gap at the back of the waist if I'm to get something that goes over my thighs.
I can't stand belts and elasticated waists hence have not worn fitted trousers or jeans for years.
