If I wanted to dye my hair at home...

As I've got older, my hair has got much darker, and I hate it. Just before Covid, I impulsively dyed/bleached the ends with a kind of ombre effect and really liked it. When I finally got my hair cut a couple of months ago I asked him to cut all the blonde off as it had got so long, and now I can't stand the colour Grin

I know ombre is kind of dated now, but if I am going to change my hair colour that's the only thing I'd want to do. Shoot me for being out of touch with fashion Grin

When I did it before, I bought a Jerome Russell Ombre Kit, but I can't find them anymore. What do I need to do to get this look? Can I just buy a box dye and apply it to the ends and work upwards? Do I need a toner afterwards, and any other products?

I can't afford to go and get it done properly, so I guess I'm clumsily asking for some pointers so I don't completely screw up my hair.

I've attached some pics of what it looked like before I had it cut (excuse my messy flat!).

L’Oréal does an ombré kit, but I haven’t tried it so can’t say if it’s any good.

Oh that looks good, managed to find it on amazon, and some before and after pics on the reviews match my hair colour and it hasn't gone brassy or green! Grin
