As I've got older, my hair has got much darker, and I hate it. Just before Covid, I impulsively dyed/bleached the ends with a kind of ombre effect and really liked it. When I finally got my hair cut a couple of months ago I asked him to cut all the blonde off as it had got so long, and now I can't stand the colour 
I know ombre is kind of dated now, but if I am going to change my hair colour that's the only thing I'd want to do. Shoot me for being out of touch with fashion
When I did it before, I bought a Jerome Russell Ombre Kit, but I can't find them anymore. What do I need to do to get this look? Can I just buy a box dye and apply it to the ends and work upwards? Do I need a toner afterwards, and any other products?
I can't afford to go and get it done properly, so I guess I'm clumsily asking for some pointers so I don't completely screw up my hair.
