Not one single photo on the internet of the normal hair cut I want?

But yet it's a very normal cut for really thick hair. I know because I've had it before.

My usual hairdresser retired, he was very cut at cutting thick wavy /curly hair. He made it look curlier than it was and he made it look I was OWNING it.

Had my hair done a month ago by a new stylist and she just made it look a bit frumpy and the whole pyramid head shape is back after a month.

I have scoured the internet and I cannot find a picture of a white person with the haircut I need to show to the next hairdresser I'm going to try.

The cut I want is diamond shaped. If i went in to to a hairdresser, would you laugh at a white woman who showed a picture of a natural black afro haircut circa 1975 because although my hair isn't that tightly curly, it's the shape that I want. And had before!

And it was so easy, it just sat there looking like it was happily in charge of itself. The cut I have now is like a tousled pyramid.

Would it be ridiculous or offensive show these to a new hair dresser? I feel they demonstrate the diamond shape cut I want.

If any body can find photos of thick thick wavy/curly hair with a diamond cut I'd be grateful. I'm probably using the wrong terminology and that's why hours of googling hasn't helped!

I get the frustration as daughter is curly and finding a good hairdresser has been a nightmare. Do you have photos of you when you had the haircut you loved you could show them?

BruiserWoods · 13/11/2021 15:49

I do, but my hair looks a bit flat, it was blowing away from my face so i dont think you can see the cut

Is this what they call a Diva cut? There was a thread on here recently about it. It's not exclusively for Afro hair, just curly hair.

Oh wow i just googled that term. Thanks. I feel like i have somewhere new to start looking!

Couldn't you take in a picture of you with your old haircut?

Skeumorph · 14/11/2021 02:21

Yes a Deva cut or Rezo cut?

RichPetunia · 14/11/2021 05:16

Why would it be offensive? You’ve seen pictures of styles you want for your hair so take them in.

BruiserWoods · 14/11/2021 09:36

After googling these terms, diva, rezo and I found another one, diametrix, I have high hope for my next haircut. He said he would be cutting it dry and he told me not to wash it for a few days before I came in. No hairdresser has ever told me that!

With regards to why it might be offensive to give the hair dresser pictures of WOC when I'm white, well, I don't know, I don't personally think it's offensive but then maybe as a white woman I'm not the ulitmate judge of that.

Anyway, high hopes for the next haircut.
