I have a different shade of tinted moisturiser for summer, and am more likely to wear foundation in winter.

I also had more natural lipsticks/glosses in the summer.

I don't wear much other make up anyway, but am probably more likely to go for the smoky eyes look in the winter when I go out.

But I just buy different stuff every few months anyway, whateve the season - I am fickle and if someone persuades me that I ought to be wearing a certain brand/colour that's what I buy

expatinscotland · 13/12/2007 13:02

The only time I've ever been successful with a bronzer-type product was when Guerlin was making one called Meteorites. Years ago.

I haven't seen that around in ages, however.

ggirlsbells · 13/12/2007 14:30

hi expat- hope you're feeling better

I use geurlain bronzer ,it's the best

MellowChristmasEveryone · 13/12/2007 14:54

Expat glad you are feeling better.

Don't be having clear skin is most probably my only good point.

My ass resembles the back of that No 29 bus you used to talk about.

kittylouise · 13/12/2007 14:56

Ooh, Guerlain Les Meteorites is lovely but so expensive. Am always tempted to buy it at airport duty frees (along with another 4 lancome juicy tubes) but always end up spending it on other frivolities (ie booze and chocolate) instead.

Glad you are feeling ok, expat.

TwinklyfLightAttendant · 13/12/2007 14:57

I only have one bit of makeup, which is my Bourjois blusher (two actually because Ds lost one, then I found it in the bookcase after buying a new one!) It just goes on my cheeks to make me look vaguely alive.
Sometimes a wee bit of lipstick as well but it never looks right, I need my colours doing...

Eye stuff makes my eyes red and itchy. I gave it up long ago.

TwinklyfLightAttendant · 13/12/2007 14:59

Reading that I think I deffo need to discover how make up can become my friend...anyone recommend a decent free makeover somewhere?

MellowChristmasEveryone · 13/12/2007 15:01

I have no idea wtf to do with eyeshadow!

I mean how far up the eye to go etc etc...

frothykindofadrink · 13/12/2007 15:01

I have just bought mineral make-up this week for birthday pressie from mum

suedonim · 13/12/2007 15:47

I currently have tropical and temperate climate make up. I shall be reverting to temperate from Saturday, which basically means more coverage and more colour so I can avoid looking like death-warmed-up in Scotland's bonny weather.

suedonim · 13/12/2007 15:52

But I suspect they must sell special tropical make-up in South Africa. I know a woman who wears sooooo much slap she must apply it by the bucket load each morning. She's enormously overweight so perspires a lot (sorry, tmi, I know!) yet this make up never budges an inch from morning to night. I'd love to know how she achieves that. Araldite, maybe?

TheIceQueen · 13/12/2007 15:53

no - I don't have any make-up......

bossykate · 13/12/2007 15:54

i change my foundation for winter v. summer. also change from blusher in the winter to bronzer in the summer. i don't do eyeshadow much anyway and stick to neutral lips.

expatinscotland · 13/12/2007 15:55

ah, see, mellow, that is the beauty of the Stila smoky eyes palette. it comes with a voice recording to instruct you on exactly how to achieve a lovely, smudgy, smoky eye just perfect for your Xmas do or your special evening out with your man.

MellowChristmasEveryone · 13/12/2007 16:25

OMG I just googled the Stila Expat. How on earth have I never heard of this. I will get this!!
