I can do work stuff and weekend stuff but days like Christmas day always baffle me. I know I need something stylish smart but not businessy but what the feck is it??

I'm wearing a purple jumper, because it's quite long and will cover my 12 weeks pg belly (and all the quality street.)

Will prob only wear jeans on the bottom - assuming they will do up!

iwouldgoouttonight · 13/12/2007 11:44

I am also always baffled by this! Last year I wore a jumper and jeans (dressing for comfort rather than style!) and my sister wore a lovely black dress but was freezing cold so she had to wear slippers and a cardi with it!

Sorry, no help, hope someone else has a better answer!!

RosaLuxMundi · 13/12/2007 11:44

I have a dark green knitted dress from Zara that I will be wearing with a black sparkly belt and my trusty old Russell and Bromley black heels (or slippers if my toe isn't better by then

yaddayule · 13/12/2007 11:45

this

For my inner Nigella with jeans {dull dull dull} and a silver sparkly top/cardi combo

And rainbow toe socks (family tradition)

isaidhohoho · 13/12/2007 11:48

I too have an apron!

Chuffinnora · 13/12/2007 11:51

I don't have to cook except at breakfast (when I will be sporting my PJ's) so the apron cover up will not work. I think it would only draw attention to the problem tbh.

TheChristmaskedPoster · 13/12/2007 11:55

this year I will be sporting a fab mint green cowl neck dress from United colours of Benetton (maternity wear dept). Tis lovely!

Last christmas I wore black trousers and heels with a chiffon type (not completely un see through but still acceptable) blouse and just put my make up on and done my hair.
The year before, basically the same except black vest top (nice one) with a button up see through clingy patterned blouse over the top (sounds rotten but very nice).
Go for more classy than clubby.

expatinscotland · 13/12/2007 23:15

probably my olive green cords and a jumper with some earrings and simple makeup.

unknownrebelbang · 13/12/2007 23:32

T-shirt and shorts, or maybe trousers.

Of no help whatsoever I'm afraid, lol.

Love the tunic Mrs B. Oh how I wish I could be sufficiently thin again to carry off green cords without looking like Barbara Woodhouse ....

Am cooking for 11 this Christmas so will be wearing:

  • choc brown dress with brown suede boots plus wrap thingy for church
  • followed by brown (v. well cut) smartish jeans and Petit Bateau long-sleeved dark green t-shirt, accessorised with reindeer antlers, a green/brown moss agate necklace and lashings of bread sauce ....
MrsBadger · 14/12/2007 08:53

sparkly yet v suitable for floor-crawling, non?
also bf-friendly

am awaiting postman
also this, which with b;lack vest/tights/boots may be a better bet

eternalstudent · 14/12/2007 15:13

Black polo neck jumper with some ridiculously short grey metallic shorts and very thick tights. I am trying to force myself to accept I'm not fat by wearing clothes too young for me and this is the outfit that is going to do it. A novel tactic, but it's starting to work.

Lizzylou · 14/12/2007 15:30

Black skinny rib polo jumper with red A-line short tweedy skirt and black opaques so I don't flash the IL's.
