Will this be ok to wear to my work Xmas party?

It’s just a meal in a restaurant, not a ball or dinner and dance. I’d wear it with thick black tights and heeled black boots.

Would it be ok? It’s not very Christmassy really but I’m not bothered I’d want to blend in anyway.

Looks lovely !

Fl0w3ry · 09/11/2021 17:53

Yes, I think that looks and sounds like a good outfit for a meal. It’s something I would wear out to a meal. Wear what you feel comfortable with and would feel good in.

onepotatotwopotatothreepotato · 09/11/2021 17:55

It's perfectly ok yet wouldn't it be? If anything it's a tad frumpy 🤦‍♀️ so u will deffo blend in as it's not at all revealing or bright colours etc

tortoiselover100 · 09/11/2021 18:00

Yes it will be fine, I'm sure you'll look lovely

1forAll74 · 09/11/2021 18:25

it's quite frumpy, and billowy and just a dress.. I wouldn't feel Christmasy in that.

Universeandeverything · 09/11/2021 18:28

It looks like a top. Not keen sorry. I like a chance to dress up myself but if you are happy to be in the background it’s fine.

EssexLioness · 09/11/2021 18:30

I agree with others who say it’s a bit frumpy, sorry. It looks comfortable but I would want something a bit nicer for a Christmas do as I just wouldn’t feel festive in that. However, you have to wear what you feel comfy in, not based on the opinions of other people

I think its lovely. I plan to wear similar to my Christmas party. It doesn't have to be all sequins and glitter!

BeyondMyWits · 09/11/2021 18:38

Looks lovely.. have a great time!

EssexLioness · 09/11/2021 19:13

I think the shape is fine - it’s the colour/ pattern I’m not keen on. Having said that it’s hard to get a feel for an item hung up. Sometimes I see things in shops and they look quite plain but then look completely different on

Bunce1 · 09/11/2021 19:15

Looks quite short?

Otherwise very nice.

Agree with nice hair and a bright lippy would set it off just right. Have a great evening.

ClassicFMsavedmycat · 09/11/2021 19:15

Yeah I’m a size 16 so on the larger size. It looks a bit better on. I’m still not convinced it Christmassy. I’ll have another think (I’m trying not to buy anything new 🤣)

I think it's lovely! Can I ask where it's from?

DedalusBloom · 09/11/2021 19:30

-also am intrigued by your username!

DuesToTheDirt · 09/11/2021 19:34

I think it looks boring, sorry.

yes it is difficult to say unless we get a pic of you in it (minus head shot obvs).

Things often look much better on than on the hanger

Jumpingintochristmas · 09/11/2021 19:41

If it makes you feel good go for it.

beachtosunset · 09/11/2021 19:51

Actually just wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. No need for a special dress.

MalagaNights · 09/11/2021 21:56

Yes it's perfectly nice.

You don't have to be christmassy, you just need to look like you've made an effort for a nice evening out.

If you want to look at bit more 'party' a sparkly clutch would help.
And some statementy earrings, there are lots of big shiny ones about at the moment. Try Zara.

It's not frumpy. It may not be cutting edge fashion but it's a perfectly nice dress which I'm sure you'll look lovely in.

Earrings, bag, lipstick and an intention to have a good time and you'll be grand.

Westerman · 09/11/2021 22:30

I think it's lovely and will be very flattering. You need to wear something because it makes you feel good, not because it's something you think you should wear, like a gold party frock. Accessories can make a big difference to an outfit, too.

TeamRick · 09/11/2021 23:48

I really like it too, where's it from classic?

Glassofshloer · 09/11/2021 23:51

I really like it. Would wear with glossy tights, chunky boots & hoops.

dontgobaconmyheart · 10/11/2021 09:21

Wear it OP, it's absolutely fine, appropriate and is pretty. Just because it is a 'Christmas' do doesn't mean you need to literally make a nod to xmas in the outfit, or dress in a novelty way.

It's a nice print and style for the winter season, and ultimately it's a quick bog standard meal out with work, which is essentially work anyway for those of us who hate organised fun. I wouldn't spend money on a new outfit for that kind of thing.

ClassicFMsavedmycat · 10/11/2021 18:57

Thanks all, it was from Asda! About £12 in the sale 😂
