Soft, flexible ballet flats

I think I require some of the above to make my wardrobe and life complete but can't find any. First stop was obv Boden but they're just not soft and flexible enough. I really want them for I deep wear - dinner at friends and ours kind of thing, not stomping around the streets
Can anyone recommend some?

I have some lovely tan Carvela flats that are super soft
But I also have a croc pair that are hard as rock

So try a few pairs

MoltonSilver · 09/11/2021 08:35

They're not the prettiest but Clarks Freckle Ice, if you can find them, are ridiculously soft and flexible.

Tokyo89 · 09/11/2021 09:22

Sam Edelman ballet flats are super soft and comfortable.

Porselli ballet flats are adjustable and fit like a glove, they are made by a ballet shoe manufacturer in Italy. Not cheap though, but look great and are super comfortable (I have a couple). Many colours. See here, or there are also stockists in the UK: www.pierotucci.com/en/italian-online-shop/3916-porselli-classic-black-leather-ballet-flats-PO-DS-02.html

Oh gosh those Italian ones! Just had a peek and they are gorgeous! But I'm not sure about the price. Maybe if I do a big Vinted clear out and blow the proceeds!
Looking at the other options too. Thank you!! xx

Seeing as they're for indoors you could do an Amy Winehouse and buy actual ballet shoes.

Wagsandclaws · 09/11/2021 10:08

The soles are hard so not squishy but the suede is the softest I've ever bought and I've got several pairs. Hobbs ballet flats are amazing.

I've got a bunion so have to be choosy and I can't recommend them enough, again quite pricey though.

I have some of these, i often put them in my bag on a night out just in case my feet hurt 😁 they are great for informal wear at home or at friends houses when i need to take shoes off. Cheap too altough mine are plain black and i think i got them on e bay even cheaper.

They may not be fancy enough for what you want, but AllBirds Tree Breezers are they most comfortable flats I've ever had! And you can put them in the washing machine Grin.

Zara ballet flats are very soft and stay on! (the higher-cut ones, that is).

MrTulkingIsFeelingHorny · 09/11/2021 10:43
Now all sold 🙁

Leather blanket flats from French Sole are lovely... the mock croc are a bit more inflexible.

Gonnagetgoing · 09/11/2021 10:49

Just a FYI, I used to wear these out and about including French Sole but someone told me they're terrible for your feet. Very comfy though.

I was about to buy them. A complete bargain for £9.99. But I was beaten to it!

Sorry to sound like a kill joy but when you wear ballet flats, or any shoe which does not stay with your heel when you lift it up, means that you are cramping your toes to keep them in place.

Really not relaxing at all. You very likely don't notice because you are so used if it. It's really not a good idea. Sorry.

Rubber soles - Hush Puppies, Vionics, both super comfy and some surprisingly stylish options.

These are soft and flexible:

As I said there's no way I'd stomp around the streets in them. I guess I'm looking for glorified slippers - something more stylish to wear out to dinner at other peoples' houses or my own. My DH got plantar fasciitis from running in 'barefoot' shoes so I'm very wary!

I love Allbirds Tree Breezers

Itsnotdeep · 09/11/2021 17:51

I have some from LK Bennett which are nice.

Windyone · 09/11/2021 17:54

I wear Butterfly Twists but I buy them on eBay. You can normally get a bargain that has never been worn.

OnlyTheTitosaurusOfTheIceberg · 09/11/2021 18:19

Another vote for Butterfly Twists. I had some lovely leopard print ones that I wore the way you’re describing, glorified slippers, for about 3-4 years until I finally had to admit they were too shabby now.
