Winter sporting event with hospitality. What to wear?

DH and I have been invited to attend a sporting event next month with hospitality and I'm looking for some outfit ideas please.

It'll be indoors for drinks/lunch and then outdoors for the game and then back indoors. It's December so likely to be cold or wet or both. Just to complicate things I'm prone to a hot flush so whilst I don't want to be cold and miserable I don't want to be a sweaty mess indoors.

My 'go to' would normally be black slim jeans and a black top with long boots. I have a longish black wool coat and also a more casual black North Face jacket.

Was thinking about a midi-length dress with thermals and thick tights underneath or maybe some trousers with boots and a nice jumper/top. I want to look comfortable/appropriate but also as if I've made something of an effort.

I'm a 5'4", size 16, apple shape and like many others I've sort of lost my way with clothes over the last 18 months so would really appreciate some inspiration from you lovely S&B Mumsnetters.

I am a similar shape and went to a similar sounding event a while ago. I wore a jersey dress belted at the waist, over thick tights with ankle boots. I had a leather biker jacket and thick scarf for outside. I wasn’t too cold luckily.

Thank you @SingleHandSue. I think that's the sort of dress I will look for although I don't suit biker jackets unfortunately.
