Daith Piercing?

I'm considering a Daith Piercing after falling in love with the look of the one below. But I'm worried about the pain. I had my top ear cartalidge done with a gun 25 years ago and I still love it, but haven't considered another piercing until now. I'm 40. But a very trendy 40. But am I too old for this?? Is it really painful? How long will it take to heal so that there's no pain, and how is it practicality wise (I'm thinking sleeping, brushing hair, ear bud headphones etc)

Btw: I do realise I wouldn't actually be able to have a hoop like that in it for about a year though!

To those who already have Daith or others, how do they get on with in ear buds. I use them a lot at work and sometimes my Tragus gets in the wat

Daith doesn't bother my earbuds at all, it's the tragus that's the pain. Switching to a flat back stud for it helped though

I'm going to go agasint the grain here - I had both of mine done for migrained purposes - and it hurt like HELL!!

Having said that - it was over v.quickly and having the first one done didn't put me off having the second one done - but my migraines are terrible and I will try anything!!

They've both healed beautifully but sadly they have not done anything for my migraines :( I'm 52.
