Soft long boots for a toddler

ds2 will not keep his shoes and socks on so i'm after some soft boots, maybe even slipper shoes, that i can just put on him when we're out and about. He's in his pushchair so they dont have to be necessarily suitable for walking around in.
Any links or ideas would be fantastic.

sorry, should say he is 21 months and in a size 5.

cheat and put him in tights under his trousers

lazawreath · 10/12/2007 16:00

I did consider tights, but i really want some shoesies that will keep his feet really warm as they are like ice a lot of the time.
May get some tights as well.

How much do you want to spend?

My DS went through this stage and I eventually bought him some boots similar to these...www.next.co.uk/shopping/children/boysaccessories/4/3

MrsBadger · 10/12/2007 16:24

bit pricey, look lovely and warm though

lazawreath · 10/12/2007 16:55

I love both! Can't afford both though, I wonder if ds would love them as much as me.

My 16 month old can rip off her velcro boots no problem. The pull off ones would present no challenge.

I would have though laces or buckles would be the only way to get him to keep them on.

Is he in a footmuff? I have a kaiser one and it is so cosy. DD2 can be in just socks trousers top and fleece >freezing scotland here> and is warm as toast. Beats the pants of all other footmuffs and can fit a large 3.6 year old too.

lazawreath · 10/12/2007 17:21

i had a buggy snuggle but i sold it. Wish id kept it now. I might get another one though.

I would get a kaiser xl footmuff from ebay which will last him till he is out of the buggy rather than boots which will last about 8 weeks tbh.

here

lazawreath · 10/12/2007 20:54

they are gorgeous and I really want one but i really can't afford one and dh keeps saying 'it's not worth it, he'll be wanting to walk everywhere soon' I could do with winning the lottery.

I bought two pair of tights for ds2 today and as soon as ds1 saw them he wanted a pair on as well. That was this morning and he is still wearing them!

Ds2 was slightly confused when he went to pull them off and they just kept getting longer and longer.

ProjectIcarus I couldn't resist, I just bought one of those footmuffs. Please don't give me any more links to lovely things, i'll go bankrupt!

Ooooh - have you got it yet?

He will be the snuggest boy in town.

ADDICTEDtosayingHAAAAAAAPYxmas · 15/12/2007 14:22

are those footmuffs better than buggysnuggles?

lazawreath · 15/12/2007 14:27

i ordered it today so it might be here on tuesday. I also bought hima pair of snowboots from next. They are really good actually, you can tighten them. Thing is they have sent me two pairs but only one pair is showing up on my account.
I've asked for the footmuff in aqua. I like the pink as well but ds might not appreciate it as much as me.

It's arrived!!!!! It is lovely, it looks just like a normal sleeping bag, except smaller. i love it!

ADDICTEDtosayingHAAAAAAAPYxmas · 20/12/2007 08:12

oooh what size are the boots? you can send me the extra pair if you like

lazawreath · 20/12/2007 08:33

Ive sent them back to next. I wasnt sure from my statement what they had done, but i think they were going to charge me for them on the following statement.
They are really nice, camouflage snowboots, check them out on the next website. They also have sheepskin ones but they were all sold out.

Oooh if I didn't know DH would throttle me I would get those Celtic ones. We were given some tiny slippers and gloves from there when DS was born, they were lovely!

Mind you, DH can't talk, he spent £30 on fur-lined Croc slippers for DS! (they are ridiculously cute though )

ADDICTEDtosayingHAAAAAAAPYxmas · 20/12/2007 08:45

are these them?

lazawreath · 20/12/2007 11:38

Yes, that's them. They're lovely and ds can't take them off, although he tries. He gets really stroppy, especially when i put tights on him too

OP posts:
ADDICTEDtosayingHAAAAAAAPYxmas · 20/12/2007 13:04

i like the suede ones but they are sold out

lazawreath · 20/12/2007 13:35

I know, I keep looking at all the lovely things and wishing i wasnt skint. It's so good, you can order things, and if you dont like them you can arrange a courier to pick them up! You never have to leave the house again!

Glad you like the footmuff . They are sooooo snug. DD2 was in hers yesterday. -3.5 with wind. She was snugged up with her coat and hat on in her footmuff out for the count.

With warm cheeks !
