I can't get the knack of the Dyson airwrap curler- any help?

What am I doing wrong? I can't get my hair to wrap neatly around the barrel. It only grabs a very thin section and makes it frizz.

Try joining the Dyson UK Styling Tips group on Facebook... It's impossible to know what the problem is but if you look at some of the vids that might help, or you can ask & see if anyone else has had the same problem

@dropearrings make sure you are using the right barrel and follow the direction of the arrow (sorry if that's too obvious). Otherwise try holding a small section of hair away from your head and putting the airwrap against the section a few inches down the length. Let go of your hair and it should wrap round. You can then move it nearer to your head if you want to without twisting it.

I find if my hair is dripping wet it doesn't grab it as easily.
Of course, the closer it is to dry the less the curls stay.
It's a balance I am still working on.
Also holding it vertical grabs better but holding horizontal creates better tension and hold. Swings and roundabouts.

Once I grab it, I unwind it and wind it back up again to create more tension, which I think helps create shape and curls.

I find that my hair has to be 99% dry for it to work.
(Not really the point of the thing... But it does curl it well... If a bit frizzy)
