PLEASE HELP me find a nursing wedding guest dress for this weekend

Wedding is this weekend. I'm 4 months PP and feeling ok in my jeans but not comfortable at the thought of wearing address. I posted before and some kind Mumsnetters suggested silk fred wrap dresses. I ordered one and it just didn't suit me or maybe just wasnt my style!

I have always favoured a shift dress style and even after DC1 I remember feeling ok in the mind of shift dress that was sort of baggy rather than fitted. So I think that's what I need to try but need one I can BF in!

Any help gratefully received as o only have a few days to find something!

When u get the shift dress I'd u like it, take it to a dressmaker and ask if they can put hidden zips in under each arm to the waist.

I already had a dress that I liked that had a zip on one side like that to allow you to get in and out of it, so when I was struggling to find a nice breast feeding friendly dress I realised the zip provided access and so got another zip put in on the other side and it worked a treat!

If you live close enough to a seraphine, I would go and try on some nursing dresses. They have nice occasion dresses with bf access as part of the design

Llama33 · 19/10/2021 07:51

Or a trouser suit - I know that's not what you'd asked but might be easy to find at short notice and a button blouse will work for bf

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 19/10/2021 07:55

Thank you @TenFootTall that may be a last resort just due to timing!

@Llama33 I am looking at Seraphine dresses now and there are a few a like. I'm going somewhere where there is a store on Friday but seems too late to wait till then in case they don't have anything I like in my size so thinking of ordered a couple to try but doesn't help I don't know what size I would be so feel like I would need to order a few 🤔

Maybe this

But also thinking these high necked dresses will not work on me with my huge BFing breasts...

Do any of the Juno Jacks styles work for you? A few different options here: junojacks.com/collections/occasion-wear

Llama33 · 19/10/2021 08:46

The navy floral wrap would be my favourite- lovely!

I'm in a 12 post baby but my seraphine clothes are a 10 as I got them while pregnant and used to wear a ten! Haha

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 19/10/2021 08:52

Not sure about the Juno ones

I was thinking my pregnancy clothes would have fit me in a 10 so should work in a 10 now - it's a 10 and 12 I'm between

If you're on Facebook there's a group called Can I breastfeed in it? UK. They're great and will help you get sorted. Obviously Mumsnet is great too but this question is literally all they talk about on there Grin

MalFunkshun · 19/10/2021 09:04

ASOS do some good ones which feel a bit nicer than usual and have sort of flaps - something like this?

MalFunkshun · 19/10/2021 09:06

Or Tiffany Rose do some, but hideously expensive so would be worth checking on eBay / Vinted etc.

MyCatHatesWhiskas · 19/10/2021 09:07

Definitely Seraphine and I have found their sizes are consistent with normal sizing, as in I’m a 12/14 and bought a 14 to allow for boobs and it fits well.

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 19/10/2021 09:15

I still like the Seraphine one

This is the same one (the blue one) in black

Is this colour ok for an October wedding?

@MalFunkshun not sure about that one but didn't think to try eBay

Found something on eBay. It's cheap enough that I will give it to charity if it doesn't fit!

Thanks all

UPDATE I wore the black Seraphine dress and really liked it!

I will try to wear it again given it cost about £120

It's black so should he fairly versatile hopefully not that I often go anywhere that I need to dress up
