DS shaved eyebrows

DS16 has shaved off half his eyebrows. It looks awful as you can imagine. No idea what he was trying to do- neaten them up, he claims.

Anything we can do to make it look better while they grow back? Are they likely to grow back a bit dodgy?

Some eye brow pencil would do it, or micro blading.

What does he want to do about it? I mean his options are basically no eyebrows, draw them back on, or some sort of cosmetic treatment.

I'm not sure anything is going to hide the fact he has shaved off his eyebrows.

Not sure what he wants to do. I fear pencil might make it look worse.

Anyone know how long brows take to grow back?

It’s about two to three months before he sees growth.

As a pp said you either draw them in, get some form of semi permanent solution or leave them like that.

What does he think? For me that's most important element - if he likes it, do nothing, if he's upset and embarrassed I'd try to find a way to get them fixed at a salon or something? I have mine micro bladed but it's quite a long process and expensive so not really a great idea!?

I think pencilling them in on a 16yr old boy world look worse, unless that's the look he was going for?
They'll grow back.

They’ll grow back, in the meantime he could use some colored eyebrow gel or eyebrow powder to make them look a bit fuller without wearing very visible makeup. Perhaps you could put some eyelash serum on the bald spot to make the hair grow back faster? I’ve personally never tried those but many people swear they actually work.

We've all done daft things to our appearance when we were teenagers. Thankfully he hasn't done anything permanent! Unfortunately he's just going to have to look a bit daft with no eyebrows until they grow back - either that or draw em on 🤷🏻‍♀️

Unlikely! I mean they might, but eyebrows do not grow quickly usually. And they might grow back completely differently.

As he’s 16 I think you are just going to have to go with what he wants to do. Perhaps you could find an eyebrow bar place so he could find out about different options.

If they are completely gone then you aren’t going to know what he’s thinking about anything for months!

Maybe buy him a hat or two...

He's 16. I'd leave him to it. I can't imagine he'll want to get an eyebrow pencil and carefully shade them in every morning. We all do bizarre things with our looks at that age.

I recall, that many years ago, our local newsagent had a number of items on display hanging up behind the counter; a card of combs, plastic bubble blowing pipes, etc. but there was also a 'Mr X Disguise Kit' that had a pair of glasses (no lenses), a false moustache and beard combo, plastic buck teeth but most importantly for you, a pair of false, bushy eyebrows.
You might want to try and find one of theses kits.
It was only half a crown.

It's not a given that they'll grow back. DS's stupid friend shaved off one of DS's when he (also stupid) got horribly drunk aged 18. We waited with bated breath for regrow this and lo it eventually happened. In the meantime his sister was very skilled with the eyebrow pencil and gel. He was fortunate. And stupid. Did I say that?

Then why do I need to get mine shaped every 3-4 weeks? Am I superhuman or something? Hmm

That’s what I think. He will never live it down if he draws them/has micro blading. They will grow.

I shaved mine off around age 7. I also cut my own fringe. DM clearly wasn’t good at hiding sharp implements.

He didn’t pluck them from root they will keep growing. You should see regrowth in few days. Granted good 6-8 weeks before full length

I think he should do nothing but grow some fringe. Messing about with the skin there may inhibit re-growth. This will just be something he looks back on and laugh.

Thanks everyone. Just need to wait, I suppose. I’m starting to wonder whether he was trying to do that thing of having a thin line shaved in eyebrows, but used his ordinary razor Confused

Ooh, DP, My Ds gave himself wonky eyebrows trying to shave the hairs in the middle of his brows… they do take a little while to grow back tho! The same twerp (when he was younger) cut a lump out of his fringe😱 he refused to have a haircut that would have evened it up… so the nearest we got was a very very short fringe!
He looked like Brother Cadfael😂
