Will I look stupid wearing this in the office?

I don't really have any workwear. Wear jeans and t shirts a lot, boho type dresses when i want to wear dresses. Love my DM's.

Want to look nice in the office this week. Would this dress with my DM's and a black leather biker look stupid?

It's not really a workwear kind of office. Big office with lots of people in normal times. Quite casual or wear what you want type think, think academia, not corporate at all.

I want to look nice and feel good.
@Hoppinggreen he is so so lush and we're both single but I doubt he'd ever consider me and he's probably too sensible to get involved with someone at work.

Still want to look nice though!
I suppose you might not want to get involved with someone at work but no harm in looking

CommanderBurnham · 12/10/2021 18:34

Firstly, that's a lovely dress, and will accentuate your curves. The colour and satin dress could make it look a bit evening attire if you don't dress it down.

However if you're in a casual office and don't normally wear that kind of stuff then you might come across as a bit like you're trying too hard.

If you don't feel I entirely comfortable wearing it then that will come across too.

WrapAroundYourDreams · 12/10/2021 18:34

I bought it about a year ago but will try find for those interested!

@Hoppinggreen I'm stupid so I don't care 😂 but he's really intelligent and probably quite sensible so doubt he'd go there.

No harm in looking nice though.

Definitely wear it. It's beautiful and at a size 10 you can't have too many curves that are in the wrong place. Good luck 💕

BrimfulOfBaba · 12/10/2021 18:50

Wear it! It's gorgeous and I don't think it's too dressy, especially not with DM's. I wear similar dresses from the same shop at work. Good luck OP - I married my office crush!

WrapAroundYourDreams · 12/10/2021 18:54

Oooh thankyou @BaggiesBride and @BrimfulOfBaba

You married your office crush? I wish something like that would happen to me!

I've kind of decided to see how it goes this week and then probably do what I can to get rid of this crush after as it's no good daydreaming about him all time when he wouldn't be interested.

I'm thinking though that I'm maybe a bit bigger than when I bought that dress and maybe it's too much for the Spanx to sort out so maybe back to the drawing board....

I have this? Any good?

Loads of long term couples met at work. It's normal!

BaggiesBride · 12/10/2021 19:08

Another lovely outfit. You have great taste xx

ElvisPresleyHadABaby · 12/10/2021 19:15

Love it OP! Tried to find one for myself but all are sold out.

BrimfulOfBaba · 12/10/2021 19:18

That dress is beautiful too. Agreed with @BaggiesBride, love your taste!

LookdeepintotheParka · 12/10/2021 19:18

I work in academia and that outfit would look fine! You'll look great - go for it!!

BTW my ex work colleague is now my DH Grin

olivesnutsandcheeseplease · 12/10/2021 19:21

I married my work colleague, we bonded over cups of tea. Maybe offer to make him a brew whilst swishing your floaty dress Wink

Lizzy1980 · 12/10/2021 19:25

I really like it. Will look great with DM’s 👍🏻

lollylimejuice · 12/10/2021 19:33

I think it sounds great. If you do as planned and dress it down with DM's there shouldn't be a problem. Don't lose your nerve. I bet you'll look great. I wore a frilly skirt, sweater and trainers last week, panicked at the last moment but everybody loved it and I'm a jeans and trainers girl.

WrapAroundYourDreams · 12/10/2021 19:36

Thanks @lollylimejuice, your outfit sounds really cool too.

I wouldn't ever call myself a smart person by any means but I hate how everything is jeans and very very casual a lot of the time. I get it, I do it myself a lot, but I want to wear beautiful clothes that say something about me to people.

Basically I don't get to talk to him much these days so my outfit needs to speak for me 😂

I love the all saints dress!

I have a corporate job and a couple of their satin dress/jumper combos. I think they are perfect to dress up or down depending on your accessories.

OnwardsAndSideways1 · 12/10/2021 20:14

I would wear a dress or outfit that you love and makes you glow, who cares if other people think it's a tiny bit 'dressy', I always look a tiny bit dressy and I love it, I just wouldn't feel the same if I didn't have the full face on and the outfit at work, and I really don't care if other people would prefer to dress down/wear no make-up, they do what suits them, I just feel more confident with a particular look!

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 12/10/2021 20:26

I absolutely love both of the dresses!

Get the first dress and try it with the spanks.

WrapAroundYourDreams · 12/10/2021 20:31

Actually it's a good point.

Would Stevie Nicks care if she looked too dressy? Not at all.

I just have to decide now on the two best possible outfits and which days to wear them 😂
