Are these ugly?

I quite like them but they're not usually my style. Would you wear them?

I don't mean baggy, just ever so slightly looser as I think the horizontal lines and houndstooth pattern will look a bit off kilter when worn on calves thicker than the model's.

(not suggesting you don't have lovely calves!)

I had a pair just like that from Pro Moda in about 96. Wore them with my dms and bloody loved them.

I have officially turned into my mum.

idontlikealdi · 12/10/2021 16:31

*vera moda

SlateCoaster · 12/10/2021 16:33

They're not ugly. I wouldn't wear them, but only because they're not my style. Go for it if you like them.

My3cents1 · 12/10/2021 16:39

Firm no, on anybody. They look cheap and the quality looks very poor.

polkadotpixie · 12/10/2021 16:39

I love them but not at £84! 😮 I'd buy a H&M price equivalent though

MistySkiesAfterRain · 12/10/2021 17:09

M&S does some nice check trousers. Also Me and Em but ££. I tried on a skirt in this pattern once, it is very versatile.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 12/10/2021 17:10

White Stuff have some window pane check ones.

I have these, they're a great fit and feel good quality.

Scrollonthroughtherain · 12/10/2021 20:57

Id wear them if i was a member of the Pony Club.

VanillaAndOrange · 12/10/2021 22:04

They're not my thing. I think that fabric would look better as long, wide trousers.

Cocolapew · 12/10/2021 22:09

They're a bit too skinny for me, I got great tartan trousers from New Look but it was a couple of years ago :helpful:

DramaAlpaca · 12/10/2021 22:34

I don't like them at all, sorry.

Tellmeee · 12/10/2021 22:36

I don’t like them. The length and fit isn’t right.

KirstenBlest · 13/10/2021 09:36

I'd probably wear them with DM style boots.
They're just ok.

The asos ones are hideous

evilharpy · 13/10/2021 09:40

I don't like them because of how the pattern is matched at the front, it doesn't look right, and the fit is a bit weird. I like the H&M ones linked to above better. I got a very similar pair from Tesco a couple of years ago!

KirstenBlest · 13/10/2021 09:41

I've got some punky tartan ones from a couple (?) of years ago too.
