First time out with friends in months, what to wear!?

I'm going out with friends in two weeks. Out for a few cocktails and then a meal, it's my first time out in over a year, what on earth do I wear?
I hate winter and tend to hibernate in jumpers!
I'm 46, slightly pear shaped (I think).

How about leather trousers and a silk top? Or dark jeans and a silk top? Ankle boots and a warm coat?
