Do I need these boots?

I have black, brown and beige Chelsea boots. Black and black patent work ankle boots. Do I need these boots?
I like these as they don't look to be too high on the leg as I am short.
I will be wearing them with jeans, maybe a pair of leggings and very occasionally a skirt (if they look alright)
I prefer the patent, but the plain leather might be more useful?

@BikeRunSki

I don’t know about you OP, but I need those boots!
Me too!
TizerorFizz · 11/10/2021 20:34

M&S do a very similar pair in black leather. Just got mine and I’m looking forward to wearing them this winter.

Thatsplentyjack · 11/10/2021 20:37

Everyone always needs boots. Boots are life.

jessabell · 12/10/2021 10:00

I treated myself to them. Came back in stock in my size. Got the patent ones for a change. Lovely wide fit. Not worn them out yet. But lovely soft leather. Better than m and s boots.

Isabelle70 · 12/10/2021 10:11

@jessabell don't say you got the patent! That makes me want them now!
I will keep telling myself the plain leather will be more useful 😀

I also tried on similar style M&S boots before buying the Gabors, they do not compare at all in regards to comfort and softness of leather, I have really fussy feet and these are the first leather fashion boot I have bought in a long time. Now tempted to get the patent as-well Grin

KnobJockey · 12/10/2021 21:46

@isabelle70 don't suppose you can share the link and the discount code can you please? I'm tempted now 🙈

Isabelle70 · 12/10/2021 21:57

@KnobJockey I got them from Freemans with a new customer 25% discount, it was advertised on the site. They also removed the VAT as I am not in the uk hence the low price :)

The boots have arrived and I am not sure if I like them or if they look ok on me. Maybe they are just too much out of my comfort zone.
Must say they are a lovely leather and feel comfortable when trying them on.

Lets see a photo!

Isabelle70 · 15/10/2021 12:30

@Squiz81 here you go. They look better today but I am still undecided. If I do keep them I will have to exchange them or receive a discount as the have a few grey pen like marks on the toe of one boot that won't wipe off but could clean up ok with shoe polish. I will see what Freeman's say.

Well I think they look fab but maybe I am biased,

Squiz81 · 15/10/2021 21:02

I like them!

Isabelle70 · 04/11/2021 19:42

I have kept and worn the leather Gabor boots but still fancy some patent!
What do we think of these? The reviews are a bit hit and miss.

I don't think that's they are all that with skinnies too be honest, even turned up. You need a slightly wider leg in my opinion.

Isabelle70 · 12/11/2021 08:44

I have fallen down a slippery boot hole and brought another pair of boots, that I don't really need!
What do we think of these? Very comfortable and a nice sole.

I like those patent ones. However, this is what happens when you buy the sensible ones rather than the ones you really wanted. If you had bought the patent ones originally then you wouldn’t have still been hankering after patent boots.

pickingdaisies · 12/11/2021 10:45

Are those the John Lewis ones? Love them!

Isabelle70 · 12/11/2021 11:00

@pickingdaisies yes they are.
@TooExtraImmatureCheddar yes I should have most likely gone for the patent in the first place to get rid of the itch!
I worry that they won't get much wear... but I do keep stuff for years until it doesn't fit or is fit for recycling!
They have a tiny scratch on the inside heel and JL have offered a £9.50 discount which will bring the price down and I won't feel so precious wearing them.
