Best hair straighteners for long, thick hair.

Can anyone recommend the best hair straighteners for long thick hair? I always used to use GHDs, are these still highly recommended? My current straighteners don’t leave my hair sleek which is becoming more frustrating.

I'd choose my GHDs over and over. I've got the wider plate ones which work well for my long thick hair

Cloud 9 with the wide plate! I had ridiculously thick hair that went past my bum and have never used my GHDs again since getting them. They're amazing

I didn’t find the new GHDs compared favourably at all to the old ones. I kind of gave up searching for the HG of straighteners curled it, I then got fed up of that and currently have a pixie!

I have a ghd brush, which I love. My dd and I have thick long naturally wavy hair. I can't use straightners, I find them too much like hard work, but the heat brush is brilliant.

I have Cloud 9 with the wide plate and they’re brilliant, they work really well on my thick hair.

I replaced old ghds with cloud 9 and they are fab, never going back to ghd

I’ve also swapped from GHD to Cloud 9 and am loving them. I don’t have long hair but it’s thick and they do the job so quickly.

I’ve previously had GHDs back when they used to be good. Now I swear by my Cloud 9s.

I am yet to find anything as good as old school GHDs. The new ones are crap. I've swapped to Cloud 9s like most people but I don't love them.

This isn't hair straightening per se but I also have long thick hair and found a keratin treatment was the most effective thing to make my hair sleek again. The one I used was just from Amazon

My daughter has long thick glossy hair and she prefers her Cloud Nines to the GHDs that she gave to me

L’Oreal steampod. Leaves hair shiny and much less drying than GHDs etc

I ditched GHDs after my last two pairs stopped working a couple of days after the warranty ran out. I don't think the quality is what it used to be and if I'm going to blow upwards of £120 on straighteners they'd better last for years.

Bought a Steampod instead (on eBay so not full price) and it is amazing. So much kinder to my hair and it works much better.
