Going out out and don’t know what to wear

I’m at a birthday party in a couple of weeks and need outfit ideas. I’m 41, 5ft 4 and a chunky size 16 with big boobs and hips. I quite like dresses but I wear them every day for work with thick black tights so I’d like to look a bit different. Trousers look awful on me. I don’t want to spend a fortune but I’m out of fresh ideas.

What about a wide leg jumpsuit with a wrap style top?

If you don't want to wear a dress or trousers I believe your remaining option is a skirt? There's another thread about dressing for a party where lots of people have suggested various long skirts?

A skirt could be an idea maybe with chunky boots?
