my fave suede boots have gone funny... help!

I have some fab flat suede boots from m&s, like uggs but smarter. I went out in the rain in them, big mistake! Now they've gone all hard. Luckily they are dark brown or I think they would be ruined. How can I make them soft again and get stains out?

Boil the kettle and hold the boots in the steam.

While they are damp and steamy, rub them with the rubber side of a proper suede brush.
You can get one of those from a cobbler's shop.

After you've done what bob said Scotch Guard them.

rub with white vinegar, let themdry and then brush against the grain
