I need a perfect cardigan sort of thing

I'm trying hard to look less like a student/tramp, so the hoodies have to be reserved for home.

I think I need a cardi to wear over a vest or shirt. I'm looking for something that would go well with jeans/smart trousers or even a knee length skirt. Sort of wrap around maybe, or belted, or with chunky buttons - not too thin and flimsy but I hate the heat so nothing Arran or anything.

I'm thinking olive, pale pinky heathery, or maybe even brown or cream. Nothing too strong, not black, but would go with denim/black/grey trousers.

I'm short and round (I do have a waist but I also have lots of belly plus very sizeable c-section apron), so nothing too long or too short.

Can you help, good ladies of impeccable taste?

Monsoon always have a good selection of knits. A bit pricey, but they are good quality and wash really well.

Also Tesco's often have a good selection.

Have a look on Ebay, you may be able to pick up a bargain.

M&S have some plain black and plain grey marl cardis (made out of viscose jersey so prob not terribly warm) with long sides that you can either tie or leave loose. They are useful for wearing over a plain t-shirt or a pretty camisole and the eye is distracted from the tummy because of the way they tie. I think they were £19.50. Sorry haven't got time to look for the link. But I did think it was a useful looking garment.

Cheers, I think I found the one, black but will have a nosey when I'm in next.
