It's not a posh do, lunch in a Thai restaurant then a pub crawl afterwards! But I would like to look nice, nonetheless, and not like my work (suit) or non-work (bog-standard jeans) self.

The sort of do means shoes I can stand around in pubs in, walk between pubs in, and quite possibly stumble three miles home in. I'm also quite tempted because of what we're doing to wear long sleeves and just have my denim jacket over the top when we're outside, rather than have short sleeves and have to wear/carry my heavy coat.

As for me: I am 5'4", size 16 - curvy but on account of having big boobs rather than a small waist. I am 35, and I guess I look it (despite having purple hair at the moment).

Even if you can't point me at a complete look, how about telling me what I could wear with a waistcoat like this - I love waistcoats but normally wear one just to work and can't figure out what would suit for going out.

£25 for a waistcoat is a good indication of what I would want to spend - not a fortunate, I seem to have overspent on the Christmas presents (again).

jeans, white shirt with dark vest underneath as it's cold. then waistcoat

Not sure that skirt would be a good length on me (actually I'm not sure what IS a good length on me), plus I'm not entirely happy with either of my pairs of long boots (and DH is going to disown me if I succumb to Duo).

White shirt though, so obvious I didn't think of it! Mm, could go for that.

Well, if anyone else has any ideas, I am off to bed to sleep on it.
